4M Relaxing Piano Mewsic + AprilA2Z 2017 Theme

Good morning, Kittens and Dawgs!  Before I launched into my mewsic choices today, I want to share next month’s A-Z theme – Art Sketching through the Alphabet.

After I started college and then moved from career life to motherhood my artist ability (what little I had) sorta vanished.  I did some doodling while the kids were small but my mind was not devoted to it and I couldn’t nurture these interests.  So, it fell by the wayside until last year and that’s when I had an awakening to rekindle the glimmer buried within and it stunned me to see there is still hope!  I am challenging myself to sketch anything that captures my eye using the daily alphabet prompt.  I’m not sure how well this will translate but perhaps if nothing else it will encourage others to massage a dormant talent to life.  I hope you’ll decide to join me each day as I share a bit of me with you A-Z!

Now, I invite you to hit the dance floor with the “Monday’s Music Moves Me” gals – Marie, Stacy, Colette, and myself.  This week’s theme is “freebie picks – your choice”  ?

I enjoyed the above selection of Kern’s that I decided to share with you this YouTube playlist to chillax with this morning.

What mewsic moves you today?

I have scheduled posts set for the rest of the week for your enjoyment and my convenience but something came up last Tuesday that shocked my world. I can’t talk about it because I don’t like airing publicly sensitive things and I find myself struggling to stay on top of this storm-tossed sea but all I can do is, ask for prayers for DS.

I’ll do my best to make my rounds and I hope to see you back for Tuesday Tunesation!!

      1. Oh you should check out Sandra’s blog as well: search for “What Sandra Thinks” she has amazing poetry and doodles and thoughts. 😉 I’ve been a long time follower of hers and I’m sure she’d be open to the love on her blog as well.

        1. Oops, I made a mistake, didn’t I? Your name isn’t Sandra. I saw her comments and thought it was yours. *slap forehead* Is it Monday? Every day had been a Monday this week. I’m going back to bed! No, I’m not I need to use the elliptical. See, nothings working out? ?

  1. Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!! The good thing about getting that much snow in March is that is does melt fast. All we have left is the plies that were created by shoveling or plowing!! Have a great weekend!!
    Hugs,
    Debbie

    1. Debbie, Any snow accumulation in March does melt quickly but you northern birds get it for a lot longer. I wouldn’t like that at all! 🙂

    1. Nick, thank you for visiting and learning what I’ll be doing next month in the A2Z challenge. I think this is the first year I’ve actually felt super-charged to get going on the April fun! 🙂

  2. I am sorry to hear of your troubles, wishing you strength and good outcomes.

Your theme is brilliant – a unique take on the A-Z, using it to get back into doing something you love. All the very best for April!

    1. Nilanjana, Thanks for your kind words. Hmm, my theme is brilliant you say. I like the sound of that. lol I am pretty excited about it. The April challenge is just what I needed to kick-start a lost passion. Thanks for visiting, my friend! Let me hop over to discover what you have planned for next month. 🙂

  3. When one is going through something that feels like one got punched in the gut, it helps to not o lay listen to music but to find something that we enjoy doing and so I am glad to see your art work. I will love seeing what inspires you. As for now, you are In My thoughts and now is the time to rely on friends and family because their strength is what you need. Funny, I just came from someone who creates cards, journal pages and takes beautiful pictures and she made a card and a page with this saying, ” Life is tough but, darling, so are you.” Here is her link if you want to see it-http://jane-janesjournal.blogspot.ca/

    1. Birgit, I’m telling you I initially felt like I had my heart ripped out of my stepped. Oh, I’m telling last week I was torn up super badly and while we still have a way to go I’m feeling better. Like I told Tom, friends & family are immeasurable at times like this and I can’t fully express how grateful I am to every person in my life like you. Having my new found passion occupies my attention and gives me that sweet distraction I need. I appreciate you thinking of me with your recent visit at Jane’s site. I just went over to look at it and she did a beautiful job and her sentiments are a great pick me up! Thanks, my friend!

  4. He reminds me a lot of George Winston, at least on “Mar.” Nice and mellow…

I like your theme. It should be a lot of fun!

    1. John, I wasn’t familiar with George Winston, so I checked him out on YouTube and boy is he ever good! I just love piano mewsic – super duper soothing for the soul. It clears the mind of worries while engulfed in the melodies. Yep, I’m excited about my chosen theme this year!

    1. Ellen, I appreciate the prayers for my son. God is awesome. I know He will get him through these troubling times. I can’t wait to go live on April 1st with my first sketch. I feel giddy as a school girl on the first day of class! 😀

    1. Debbie, I believe April is going to be a fun month and I’m very much looking forward to the challenge more so than I have in past years. 🙂

  5. I’ve always always always loved piano music, so your selection for today is greatly appreciated! 🙂

And I LOVE your chosen theme for A-Z! It’s been many moons since I’ve done any drawing (Princess Nagger is a *phenomenal* artist, so I encourage her to keep at it, because that kind of God-given talent should never go to waste!) 🙂 I look forward to reading in rapt attention as you work your way through the alphabet, and maybe, just maybe, I’ll be motivated to do some drawing again. 😉

A to Z Challenge: The Great Theme Reveal!

    1. Stacy, oh definitely keep encouraging PN to doodle! I did the same with DD#2, actually encouraged all of our kids with their passions, telling her once she moves away from home and gets busy with adulthood that she’ll have little time for the fun stuff. I had hoped she would pursue a college education in art or writing because she was really good in both. I’m eager to share and yes, I hope what I’ve done motivates you! 😉

    1. Mary, aren’t you a sweetheart! Honestly, I’m having such fun getting my sketches done. I’m so glad I decided to push myself in this direction. This is what I’ve needed for years. 😀

  6. Wow! That is a great A-Z theme. I look forward to your artwork. Mine will stay forever secured in my journal. No one needs to see my “art”, just as they don’t need to hear me sing or even whistle. *wink* Hugs, my friend.

    1. Annie, Oh I bet everyone would love your artwork! Who knows maybe your singing and whistling, too. Those later two I definitely will keep to myself. I’m here to make friends not enemies. lol

  7. How awesome that you’re getting back into art again! I’ve noticed the photos you put up on your blog are always imaginative & artistic, so I’m sure you have a ton of talent there waiting to come out! Good luck pre-scheduling the A-Z, which’ll help keep you sane during April! lol

  8. Wow! this is an incredible idea and being a designer, I am going to tune into your blog to see your posts on art! All the best for the challenge. Lets rock April 2017 🙂

    1. Shalzmojo, It’ll be great fun to visit one another during the month of April and forging a new friendship in Blogosphere. Best of luck to you!

  9. Ooh–love this theme. I took several fine arts classes as an undergrad and miss painting and drawing. I should take the time to go back to it. Looking forward to your artwork.

    1. Tamara,

Oh, I’m impressed with your educational background in art. I wish I had formal training as you. I’m using the Internet as my tutor in step by step sketching. I’m finding self-teaching art is an art in itself! Thanks for stopping by and I shall look forward to sharing with you next month!

  10. A to Z April is a great to hone skills and share talent. Sounds like a theme that will be rewarding to you as well as the visitors to your blog.

Have a great Challenge this year! And thank you for sharing.

    1. Lee,

Yes, the theme and challenge have already been rewarding. I’m learning much and pushing myself more. I can’t wait to share what I’ve done with others. Now, that I’ve started my art journal I feel comfortable I won’t let my passions fall by the wayside again. Thanks for checking out my theme and now I’m heading your way to see what you’re planning for next month. 🙂

  11. Hi, Cathy!

I decided to come over and see you tonight instead of tomorrow morning and I’m glad I did. These soft, relaxing piano melodies by Kevin Kern are getting me ready for dreamland. I believe it serves us well to try many different types of mewsic and I am thankful that you posted Kern’s Greatest Hits. I enjoyed them!

As an art lover I look forward to your A to Z Challenge as you sketch your way through the alphabet and the month of April.

Have a great week, dear friend Cathy!

    1. Tom,

I’m glad you stopped by and it appears my blog is working better for you now. I wanted to add your comment from Friday with your sign in info but I never could get it to work but I will try again since you were successful. Kevin Kern is very relaxing to listen to and let me tell you I really needed to hear this again after all the chaos of last week. Unfortunately, there will be more turmoil for many weeks to come. Mewsic and sketching are going to be two things to help soothe my frazzled nerves. It’ll be an honor to have you visit each day in April to critique and cheer me as I unlock a new stage in my life with art, my friend! 🙂

      1. Hi, Cathy!

Yessum, I was happy to see my comment go thru last night. I am very sorry to know that you are heading into A to Z month with chaos and turmoil unfolding behind the scenes of your life. Please email me if you think it would help to discuss specifics with me. As you recall I have shared my own personal tales of woe with you on occasion.

        God bless!

        1. Tom,

You are indeed a good friend and if you check you’ll email then you’ll see a reply to your last response waiting for you. You’ll never know how much your friendship and that of so many mean to me just now. It’s an amazingly comforting thing to have a circle of loyal peeps in my corner. May God bless you, too!
