HS Days One-Hit Wonders #4M & Grateful for ALL Things Quote #Sparks

Puritan's Pride Vitamins

Good morning, Kittens and Dawgs! I’m taking life easy in Blogosphere. The holidays are fast approaching and instead of getting stressed about this or that, I’m just going with the flow. Our mewsic theme this week is “One-Hit Wonders from Your High School Days” submitted by today’s Spotlight Dancer, Vandy J from The Testosterone Three and Me. Very cool theme I might say, not that I’m doing a series on this subject or anything. ūüėČ

I graduated in 1980, so my high school years spanned the late 70s. This is currently the decade I’m working on with my #1 One-Hit Wonders series, so I thought I’d pick those one-hit wonders that were a little less known to me, such as my opening song “It Must Be Love” by Alton McClain & Destiny peaking #32 on June 9, 1979 which coincidentally is our wedding date. Yeah, I was a child bride and you can read a little more about it here. Now, stroll down memory lane with my high school years one-hit wonders playlist!

  1. Summer 1976, “Save Your Kisses For Me” Brotherhood of Man, peaked #27
  2. Fall 1977 “Smoke From a Distant Fire” Sanford Townsend Band, peaked #9
  3. Summer 1978 “Dance Across the Floor” Jimmy Bo Horne, peaked #38
  4. Summer 1980 “New Romance” Spider, peaked #39

Some of these one-hit wonders I remember but most I can’t say for sure, except for the #9 charting song. Okay, it’s your turn, what mewsic moves you today?

I invite you to hit the dance floor with my dance partners XmasDolly, Stacy,  & Colette!

This is a weekly hop for mewsic enthusiasts regardless if you follow our weekly theme or not if you have mewsic to share then we’re ready to dance with you. Otherwise, I ask that you do not link non-mewsic posts below to boost traffic to your site. You’re welcome to leave your URL in comments with a brief description inviting me to check it out. Thank you!

I invite you hop over to McGuffy‚Äôs Reader for more ‚ÄúSparks‚ÄĚ of inspiraiton/encouragement. Let‚Äôs make the world a better place, one person at a time beginning with #1! ūüėČ

I pulled together a playlist of Contemporary Christian and Country Artists with songs about blessings/gratitude prior to knowing today’s mewsic theme and instead of ditching it, I decided to share it in this segment. Hey, what can I say, I love mewsic! ¬†This is the season of reflection and a time to express gratitude for everything in you life no matter how small or how difficult because we have it better than most. We just need to open our eyes to receive the blessings in all shapes

  1. “We Are Blessed” All Sons & Daughters
  2. “I Could Not Ask For More” Sara Evans
  3. “Blessings” Laura Story
  4. “It’s a Great Day to be Alive” Travis Tritt
  5. “10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord)” Matt Redman
  6. “But For The Grace of God” Keith Urban
  7. “Good Good Father” Chris Tomlin
  8. “Live Like You Were Dying” Tim McGraw

I’m chillaxing in Blogosphere with the upcoming holidays. There’s no need to add stress to one’s life. This is a season of blessings and good cheer, so enjoy it – live in the moment! Keep those tunes playing, your body swaying, and I‚Äôll see ya around the cyber block soon! XūüíčXūüíč, Cathy

Cades Cove Barn #WW

Puritan's Pride Vitamins

Welcome Kittens & Dawgs! This old barn is in the Cades Cove area of the Great Smoky Mountains.¬† If you look through the first barn you’ll see another barn behind and a buggy. I shared a close up of this shot in Forgot Past several years ago if you’d care to take a peek. Meanwhile, I used the above image to create more magic through these photo-artworks.

Distressed FX with layer options, Cole and Earthstone with a minor saturation adjustment

Brushstroke Simple (S6) and Papers=Blue. I made a happy discovery with the app signature option which I can move it around. I don’t know why I didn’t try this before now! Oh, silly me, right? lol

Last time I mentioned Waterlogue keeps tracks of options applied, but I didn’t realize that it tracks ALL changes even when you revert them, so to keep things straight I won’t show those again and just hit the prominent ones of choice yielding my final image. Preset Style = Rainy, Format = 10″ Giant, and Paint = Lighter.

This week, Joyce is taking a fall break from Wednesday Hodgepodge.

I’m not sure why I’m drawn to¬† barns but I love the things of the past and how it makes me feel. Do I long to walk through the by-gone days? I don’t think so but it’s certainly nice to imagine what it was like to live in those days.

Don’t miss the latest from Curious as a Cathy! Sign-up (see side menu) today to begin receiving CAAC’s mews right to your inbox! I hope you’ll step back into time with me tomorrow with Throw Back Thursday. Have a good day!

Mark – Chronicles From the Man Cave, our Spotlight Dancer, a few weeks ago¬†requested his theme choice to be songs about “MOVING FORWARD”. *scratch head* I dunno about this one. Monday’s Music Moves Me/Meet Me On Monday

Goooood Monday morning to you! How was your weekend?¬† Ours was great, but I’ll tell you more about that later (Read more about my weekend¬†here).¬† For now, let’s get this rockin’ party on the road with.

XmasDolly, hostess of Monday’s Music Moves Me has designated today’s music theme as¬†a “freebie pick”. This is what I’m moving to this Monday morning.¬† With that being said, there’s a never-ending wave of hot musical hits out there which can get me to my feet in an instant I hear the beat.

Here are a just a few songs I hope you’ll join me on the dance floor in.

Introducing this week’s spotlight couple
#1. Naila-Moon/Just the Stuff You Know

Join the dance fever fun¬† and link up to¬†the party below….

Boogie on over to¬†Hairs, Bows, and Guitar Picks for Music Monday or for some get-to-know-me/you fun with Meet Me On Monday.¬† Java’s questions this week are:

1. What feature of the opposite sex do you notice first?
I would have to say, I notice a man’s eyes. and while there are many men with¬†some¬†gorgeous eyes, None can match my darling husband’s beautiful brown eyes.¬† His eyes have captured my heart forever!¬†

2. Do you talk to yourself?
It all depends on who’s asking.¬† If you’re just a friend, then I’d have to say ‘yes’, but if you’re someone wearing a white coat, then I’m going to say ‘no’. lol.¬† I’ve always been told it’s okay if you talk to yourself just as long as you don’t answer yourself. The problem is, I answer myself sometimes.¬† My husband¬†often asks,¬†“Who were you talking to?” or “Were you on the phone with someone a minute ago?”

3. What is your current relationship status?
I have been happily married for the last 32 years.

4. Do you have a garden?
Nope. I’ve tried growing tomatoes in the past on my porch in containers, but the results haven’t been as fruitful as I wanted. So, I’ve gotten really bummed out about it and have not tried growing tomatoes for the past two years now.

5. What is your favorite licorice flavor?
I’m not a licorice fan, but if I had to eat it then I’d go for the strawberry or cherry flavor.¬† I think black licorice is icky. Well, not icky but it’s like way on the bottom of my junk food choices.

C’mon, get better acquainted with your blogging friends, link up below and have some fun!
