This is the last full week of August. All month, I shared photos taken in along the northern section of the Blue Ridge Parkway in Virginia. I am winding down that leg of our journey with these shots from Peaks of Otter…
We want to make a return visit so we can spend more time photographing this spot. We got here kinda late in the day. This reminds me just a bit of Jordan Pond on Mt. Dessert Island for some reason. You might have to stretch your imagination a bit, but I think it’s where the hills meet the water that makes me think of it. We so have to go back to Maine! 😀
DH got me a new app for my iPad. I took the above photo and did this with it….
I’m still on my blog break and am enjoying a little R&R with DH while helping him with his job search. Thank you for continuing to be apart of my #WW party and for your patience. I pop in from time-to-time and always do return visits….eventually. So, link up! 😉
Meanwhile, I invite you to have fun with a few of my favorite #WW shutterbugs link ups and have a fototastic day!
PS: I’m gonna be doing one week on and one week off, so starting next Wednesday I will be off.

Your painting is gorgeous! Thank you Cathy for sending out a message to the BOTB crew!!! I’ll catch up later, when you get back. I’ll also email my phone number.
Dixie, I wish I could really paint, but thanks to photo editing apps then I can convert any picture into a painting. 😀 I was happy to let our fellow BOTBers know what’s going on with you and I know I speak for everyone by saying, get yourself better real soon! As for my little blog break, I’m not totally gone. I pop in from time to time and for now will only do my BOTB and WW posts until the dust settles around here. Thanks for visiting. You’re in my thoughts & prayers!
I can see how it reminds you of Mt. Desert Island (I mean, obviously, they are very different, but there are similarities).
What beautiful photos.
Thanks for stopping by, Patrick. It’s always nice to see you visiting! Now, to hop over to your place. 😀
It actually forms a peak!! how cool is that. What a beautiful area. I am so bored of photographing my own neck of the woods. I think I will have to do a day trip somewhere once the kids are back in school.
I didn’t link up today because I am battling a computer virus – a very viscous one it seems. Or rather 272 ones that the malware software I loaded has discovered already!!! oye!
hope you are enjoying the time with DH, and keeping you both in prayers on the employment front.
Les, what a headache! I feel your pain, hon!!! Oh, I tell you IF only these genius would use their talent for good, instead of evil then the cyberworld would be a better place, right? Best of luck to you. I don’t envy the job you have ahead of you. 🙁 Oh yeah, thanks for the prayers. That means SO much to us! {{hugs}}
Hi, dear Cathy! It’s great to hear from you again. Thank you for showing us yet another picturesque spot encountered in your travels. Mrs. Shady and I both love the peace and serenity that comes when we leave our hot, crowded, traffic congested area and head to cooler, higher elevations. Relatives of ours recently returned from a visit to Maine and New Hampshire and told us how beautiful the area is. We are eager to visit.
Take care, dear friend Cathy. I’m thinking about you!
Tom, thanks for stopping by. Oh you and Mrs. Shady will definitely have to visit Maine. It’s a gorgeous state! I love it!!! We’ve been three times and I really want to go again. Thank you for thinking of us during this crazy period in our lives. I will stop by to listen to your Battle of the Banned soon!
I hope to get back into a blogging and writing routine. It has been a busy summer for everyone, gor a variety of reasons.
My ancestry is deeply rooted in Tennessee. I love it there. Thanks for sharing.
I hope things are good for you & yours. ❤
Summers are quite busy for many, McGuffy. Things took a turn the wrong direction for us with DH getting laid off, but we’re making the most of it and enjoying these last days of summer the best we can for now. Anywho, thanks for showing your support and as always it’s nice to see you! Come back anytime! 😉
