Women in music 60s – 80s

On behalf of the lovely Dancing Queen,  XmasDolly,  and her Solid Gold dancers ~ JAmericanSpice, Stacy Uncorked, Just the stuff ya know & myself thank you for joining us for another week of Monday’s Music Moves Me!

This week’s theme is Women in Music 60s thru 80s. Are you ready to boogie? Lace up your blue suede shoes, it’s time to dance to the tunes getting your groove on!

The 60s era gave us one of the greatest British female soul voices with Dusty Springfield. Here’s her 1963 hit song, I Only Want To Be With You!

I ONLY WANT TO BE WITH YOU Dusty Springfield

In the 70s Fleetwood Mac’s lead female vocalist wrote this song becoming the groups only #1 hit in the US and is still a popular song.

DREAMS Fleetwood Mac

The 80s gave us the voice of the lingerie attired sensation known as Madonna.

Did you have a good time? I did. Why not show some blog love? Invite your friends to hit the dance floor with the 4M crew now. There’s always room for one more!

How do I join this dance party, you ask. It’s simple.

1Grab XmasDolly 4M button here.
2Display it on your blog.
3Add your favorite YouTube videos.

We aren’t music snobs. However, just so you’ll know every other week, we feature a dance party theme selected by our previous week’s Spotlight Dancer. XmasDolly pins the theme choice to her side menu. On the off weeks, we dance freebie-style (your choice).

Now link up & join us on the floor!

Remember, to be considered for honorary co-host each month, then be sure to add your URL to the link up.

Next stop… your place!  What music moves you?

Don’t forget to join me for Saturday Song-suasion!

  1. I like the spectrum you did! All are faves of mine, but especially Stevie. Rumours by Fleetwood Mac was one of the first albums (actual vinyl) that I ever owned.
And of course Madonna covers so much of my youth. But I still gravitate towards the older stuff.

  2. Whoa girl you’re really rockin the house aren’t ya, and of course great minds think alike with STevie Nicks. She is so my girl! Love all her stuff! I’m outta breath now thanks for the dance! ~snicker-snicker~

  3. That is a really lovely collection of music videos. Thank you for sharing the.

  4. Dusty Springfield and Stevie Nicks were the big favorite this blog hop and I see you’re here representin’ both of them too. Great picks, thanks. You really got me moving this Monday!

  5. Love your musical picks – Stevie Nicks is also one of my faves!
Have a wonderful, inspiring week! 🙂

  6. I saw Fleetwood Mac in concert in 1977, right after “Dreams” came out. I had just graduated. I was a big fan…well, I still am. They are touring again, and just talked Christine McVie into re-joining them. Fun post!
