‘Winter Time’ #BoTBresults

Purrs & hisses, Kittens & Dawgs! It’s the weekend and on top of that it’s a holiday one, so you know you won’t find me in Blogosphere.  Nope, I have too much to do and I want to spend time with DH.  Hey, you can’t blame a girl, right?

I’m going to make this short and sweet cutting to the chase.  It’s time to announce the winner in my last BoTB in the ‘Winter Time’ showdown between Reid Jamieson and Adam & Adam.

I gave my vote to Adam & Adam.  I preferred the instrumental arrangement over Reid Jamieson’s vocal cover bringing the battle to a draw. I was stunned to have my first showdown with no winner.  Prepared to declare as such, I had this post ready to go and then yesterday, Mike (Thanks!) entered his vote breaking the tie giving the victory to Reid Jamieson

For more amazing battle results, you can check out my fellow BoTBers to see how their December 15th showdown played out and if you’d like to be included in the fun, then contact Stephen requesting to be added to the list.

✩ai love music✩ (Amy),  Angels Bark (Michele),   Cherdo on the Flipside, The Doglady’s Den (Debbie),  Jingle Jangle Jungle (Mary), Mike’s Ramblings,   STMcC Presents BoTB (Stephen, BoTB Manager),   The Sound of One Hand Typing (John), &  Tossing It Out (Lee).

That’s a wrap, I will leave you with another sample of today’s winner….

Reid recorded an Original Holiday from his album, Songs For A Winter’s Night.  My next battle is set for January 1st with the ushering in with a new year but if you happen to be in Blogosphere tomorrow or the day before Christmas then I’d love it if you hit the dance floor with ‘All Things Christmas‘ song picks on Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me

  1. Contentiously competitive contest, CATHY!

I think for most, the first time a BOTBer has a Tie, it’s a neat feeling. They think: Wow! I put together such a perfect Battle that neither artist could win.

But then the second time a BOTBer has a Tie, I think they start thinking like Yogi Berra: “A tie is like kissing your sister”.

Now, how Yogi Berra might even know that, I don’t wanna know! But he’s still right (even though I never really kissed my Sister).

I’ve had a number of BOTB Ties (6? 7? I dunno. Lost count.) and I really dislike them. I’d rather have a blowout than a Tie. (But I don’t EVER want a shutout! That’s definitely the worst.)

I’m glad you avoided your first BOTB Tie and had a winner (even though I voted for the “loser”). BOTB Ties feel like a big waste of time.

A Joyous Christmas to you and DH and all yourn! And a Fantabulous New Year, too!!

    See ya in 2019, CATHY.

    1. Stephen,

The Yogi Bear saying is funny. I’ve heard it before but I didn’t know who said it. 🙂 I’m glad I didn’t wind up having a draw but it’s one of the closest battles to date…I think. Anywho, thanks for visiting and a joyful Christmas to you, my friend!

  2. A lovely, gentle song! Shall I admit that it very rarely snows in Melbourne, Australia(only once in my memory, and that was very unexpected)and NEVER at Christmas, which is Midsummer here! So all those songs about snow and winter are foreign to me, but still pleasant.

Have a great holiday! Tomorrow night I will be following the Icelandic custom of reading a new book on Christmas Eve. I bought two books with a bookshop gift voucher I received. I’m already reading one, so
I will crack open The Black Tudors tomorrow.

    1. Sue,

It’s kind of foreign for me to think of folks in the southern hemisphere not having snow at Christmas until someone says something and then it’s like “Oh yeah, it’s summer there!”. lol As much as I dislike the cold, I do like for Christmas if I’m snuggled indoors. We went to DD#1’s home on Sunday and it was a really chilly and damp evening which I did not care for but it was so nice to get to share an early Christmas with her family. Her brother and new girlfriend were able to join us, too. So, it made for a very nice evening. I thought on your Icelandic custom of reading a book while watching the movie, The Christmas Wife, the other night. I think that’s a wonderful tradition even though I’m not much for reading books these days. 🙂

    1. Brian,

Mewsic is subjective to one’s taste more or less. I like most stuff with the exception of rap. That really doesn’t qualify as mewsic in my opinion. lol

  3. That’s the kind of Battle outcome I like–gives a sense of versions being competitive.

Have a truly wonderful Christmas holiday season and may the year to come be your best!

    1. Lee,

I didn’t keep up with this battle like I normally do and was really surprised to find how even the showdown went but am happy that Mike broke the tie. Have a blessed 2019, my friend.

  4. Hi, Cathy!

Thanks for reporting the result of your band battle, dear friend! I needed to go back and check to make sure how I voted. I’m happy to learn that I was on Team Reid and that the tie was broken in the eleventh hour, giving the win to Reid. (Who says your one vote doesn’t count?) 🙂 I also enjoyed Reid’s vocal and the arrangement on “Song For A Winter’s Night” – very pretty!

Have a wonderful weekend, dear friend Cathy!

    1. Tom,

Yes, you were on the winning team this round and I’m so happy that Mike broke the tie. I’m happy you found time to check out the results before Christmas. I’m playing catch up this morning before I get busy doing things. Have a good day, my friend!

  5. I’m glad this one gave you a challenge. Wow, that was close.

Have a fabulous day and weekend, Cathy. May you and your also have a very Merry Christmas. Hugs and love. ♥
