Who Did It Better In The Love Me Do BOTB showdown?

In the first edition of Beatles Greatest Hits BOTB series, my song pick was Love Me Do.  In the beginning I thought The Blackbirds was going to take the win but then the Blues Beatles shot forward like a bullet taking the battle victory 8 to 4. Just when you the least is expected this sort of thing happens! Let’s give it up for another sample of the Blues Beatles! 👏

Not to confuse ya’ll but Alabama Johnny is a member of the Blues Beatles

This is how you voted…

Blues Beatles – Debbie, Birgit, Diedre, John, Brian, Mimi, Stephen, & Eugenia

The Blackbirds – Tom, Mary, Sandee, & Lee

Special thanks to y’all for making this a successful battle showdown. 😘  For more result postings, check out fellow participants listed in my side bar beneath the BOTB banner.   I have a mid-month battle set for the 15th, so mark your calendar.  Meanwhile, I’ll be back tomorrow with another installment of TAD. Perhaps, you’d like to have a peek at my illustrations.

I’m leaving you with two new Brushstroke creations prompted by my good friend, Mr. Shady from last week’s Maine travelogue for all of my Wordless Wednesday peeps.  That’s it for now.  This is CAAC signing off, saying have a not-so-wordless bandtastic Wednesday!

  1. Great battle! Alabama Johnny certainly is a bluesy guy. Your artwork is outstanding, my dear. How are you not more famous?
I love lighthouses – especially haunted ones 😉

    1. Diedre,

In case you aren’t familiar Brushstrokes, it’s an app that turns any picture into a painting-like image. I used two of the pictures I took while vacationing in Maine last September to create these paintings. I wish, really wish I could use paint and brush to capture such stunning works of art. The closest I come is using another Procreate to do illustrations. What I produce with this app is my own works. I even occasionally will give my drawings a more painting-like effect by opening them in the Brushstrokes app. It’s all so very cool and very fun to do. I do so appreciate the compliments.

Thanks for stopping in to see how my battle panned out. See ya next time if not before, my friend!

  2. We like the painting, CK🎨and we also like the paintings of your new post very much, but it looks like the new post is on the run as it doesn’t show up nowhere🙈 Anyway…Have a wonderful day and Happy Pawkisses just for you🐾😽💞

    1. Peachy & Stippie,

You are probably talking about my art post. Yeah, sorry about that! I accidentally had it scheduled for yesterday but pulled it back because it’s meant of Thursday (today) and that drives me nuts when I make goofs like that. Anyway, you’ll find it up now. 🙂 Thanks for dropping by, furriend!

  3. Hello my Southern Sista! I hope you’re feeling well today, and cheerful like you always are! My dearest dearest friend how is your day going? I had doctor’s this morning that’s why I’m so late today, but I made it and I’m here my lovely. How is your day going? Great as always I’m sure. Well, I’ve been making another lap blanket for my son’s new girlfriend, and I had to go back and see how to make those granny squares. Sheesh, how can I forget such a thing… oh well! I’m back in the groove just like I hope I’m back doing my posts. Thank you my southern sista for being you, and all your help to get me back on my feet. Love your post today, so that was your Maine travel. Those pics are awesome, totally perfect! The ocean goes without words because the Lord makes everything beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing and I’ll see you on Monday… have a great weekend. Have to go for some more tests tomorrow! We’ll this ever end? Sheesh! Have a good rest of your week sweetie and thank you for all your help! HUGS!

    1. Marie,

You had a busy day, didn’t you? I’m glad you’re getting back into the groove with your crocheting and blogging. That’s wonderful! I hope you get those tests out of the way so you can enjoy the rest of the day and the weekend. You’ll have to send me an email telling what the tests are for. 😉 It’s great having you back. I knew you’d get the hang of things again. It just takes time and practice.

  4. Good band and good Battle, CAThy!

I’m looking forward to more installments in your Beatles series (can’t believe I’m saying that, but it’s true).

Also, really cool looking pictures of the West Quoddy Lighthouse. I’d like to be there right now, instead of here, buried in snow & other miseries.

    1. Stephen,

I sure do hope I can pull together a really cool and interesting battle the next time I run this series. In the back of my mind, I’m fearful that this was a bit of fluke. I hope to put up another Beatles Greatest Hits battle in June, IF I find contenders worthy for the challenge. I understand you have miserable weather but honestly West Quoddy is so far north east that I’m confident it’s very cold there right now and maybe with lots of snow, too. Spring is just around the corner, so it won’t be long before it’ll be nice again.

  5. Good outcome even if I was on the side of less voters. I’ll be joining you with my own midmonth Battle. In the meantime, I’ve got to get my A to Z posts started!

    Lee

    1. Lee,

Thanks for the return visit. I appreciate you taking time to check out my results. Best of luck to you in the upcoming A2Z challenge, my friend!

  6. Love the Blues Beatles! 😀 I’m glad they won. Today’s video is also excellent – thanks for sharing it.

Your artwork is fabulous, Cathy. Suitable for framing! 👌

  7. Oh I love listening to the music while almost feeling like I’m right there in Maine on a warm sunny day. Great Brushstrokes artworks! Leaving me with a nice happy feeling this morning after reading / hearing your post 🙂 XO

  8. A great battle of the bands. Always fun.

I so want to go explore Maine. So beautiful.

Marie did a fabulous WW post today all by herself. I’m so proud of her.

Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Love and hugs. ♥

    1. Sandee,

Thanks for the heads up on Marie’s WW post. I went over to her place and left a comment. She did well! 👏 You’ve been such a great help to her. Thank you, my friend – you rock!

    1. Nicole,

No apologizes are ever needed, just visit when you can. We all fall behind in Blogosphere. The light is on, the door open, and you’re welcome anytime at CAAC, my friend!

  9. Hi, Cathy!

Happy Wild, Wacky and Almost Wordless Wednesday, dear friend! I hope you are having a nice week.

Thanks for reporting the result of your latest band battle. For the second battle in a row, I was on the losing team. I really don’t think you should count those late votes! 🙂 I liked both acts you presented, and therefore I’m happy to hear a song by the Blues Beatles again this morning. That band has talent to spare.

i’m thrilled to see that you followed my advice and gave two of your Maine lighthouse pictures the Brushstroke treatment. Thank you so much, Cathy! They turned out great – suitable for framing! That first composition actually looks a lot like the painting my dad made for us years ago. As a person who loved the outdoors and nature, dad also had a fondness for lighthouses and nautical themes.

I will set a reminder to vote in your mid-month BOTB and look forward to seeing your latest art renderings presented in your Thursday Art Date With Rain feature tamale. I have a new post up and running at Shady’s Place and invite you to put on your boogie shoes and drop by when you get a chance. Have a wonderful Wednesday, dear friend Cathy!

    1. Tom,

Thanks for being the early bird commenter as always.:) Both contenders are fabulous in my book. I was a bit surprised that The Blackbirds didn’t take more votes but then I’ve been way off base lately in how I think a battle is going to go. I’m glad you liked the Brushstroke renditions of the two West Quoddy Lighthouse pictures. I just love that app! I appreciated the nudge to do this. Have a good day, my friend!
