Let’s start hump day with mewsic. Mary from JingleJangleJungle host’s a mid-week song challenge. She tosses out three prompts and then you’re to build a playlist. Sounds fun right?
Johnny Cash, Jesus Was A Carpenter, “a profession”.
I’m stretching Mary’s “day of the week” prompt subbing it for day’s in general with Third Day’s song God of Wonders referring to the Master’s creation.
In keeping this song prompts with my over all Christian theme my first thought for “vehicle” was a donkey. In ancient times people used these stubborn critters for travel. Dan Tompkins’ song tells the account of Jesus’ arrival through the eyes of this animal in Donkey’s Song: Beast of Burden.
I’m going to wind things up today with my responses to Joyce’s Wednesday Hodgepodge questions this week.
1. Have you done more binge watching this past year than in ‘normal’ years? Any plans to break that habit in 2021? Tell us one or two shows you binged last year that you really liked. We did do more TV watching last year than usual. I can’t say for certain that will change. I guess it will depend on if this pandemic blows over. The biggest thing I plan to change is to actively use my elliptical again. Last week I managed to get two days in and hopefully I can match that this week. My goal is to get back to using it daily for an hour and a half. Speaking of binge watching, we did start a series on Apple TV+ called Long Way Round with Ewen McGregor (Obi-Wan Kenobi in Star Wars) and Charley Boorman. It’s a documentary of their travel around the world on motorcycles. I wasn’t sure how well I’d like this show but it’s turned out to be an enjoyable program.
2. January 26th is Australia Day. Have you ever visited or lived in Australia? Have you ever tasted Vegemite, and if so what did you think? Is a trip down under on your bucket list? We answered a question about travel three months ago (the October 21st Hodgepodge), but let’s revisit now…where are you when it comes to planning or even imagining travel this year? We still have plans for a New England vacation but we may have to wait until this fall to go as it looks like pandemic restrictions have tightened again.
3. Something that zaps your energy? Something that energizes you? Troubling situations involving my children zaps my energy. That’s when I realized that I hadn’t yet turned those concerns over to the Lord and then I’m good to go again. The things that energize me is thinking about the prospect of moving into a new home. I keep saying, ‘”Maybe this will be the year?” It’s a bit defeating every year that passes but I know God has His hands in this matter. We have to patiently wait for the right place to come along.
4. On a scale of 1-10 what are your eating habits like these days? (1=all junk food all the time and 10= juicing every green thing in the frig) Healthiest meal you’ve eaten in the last week or so? I’d say my eating habits about an 8. We do our share of junk food but that’s usually when we snack. Mealtimes are pretty healthy, though.
5. What’s your most often ‘Back in my day….’ thing to say? “That’s cool!”
6. Insert your own random thought here. I will close things with this photo op.
Join my #WildWednesdays linky party where just about anything goes! The concept for this mid-week blog hop was conceived as I found myself moving farther away from photography and more toward art. Of course, that’s not what this party is about. You’re invited to share anything – artwork, DIY projects, photos, music, musings, randomness, recipes, and more!
I’m linking with these Wordless Wednesday Communities… Sandee, Natasha, Marie, & Wordless Wednesday!
That wraps things up. Join me tomorrow for Thursday Art Date with Rain. Thanks for visiting and have a blessed day! X💋X💋, Cathy

The mascot at one of my schools is a Knight. There are a couple of metal ones in the front of the school, and the one in the office has a mask on it! I need to snap a picture!
The masked Indian is funny. People have certainly gotten creative during the pandemic : ) Enjoy your weekend!
What a cool photo! Make it a great day! 🌞
I like Johnny Cash and what a cool museum to visit.
Is that Indian on the Blue Ridge Pky? That is a hoot.
It would be nice to travel to Australia and New Zealand. Both sound fascinating.
Love the post, thank you!
Love that masked Cherokee!

That masked Indian is cute. I love the sense of humor so many stores and museums have.
I hope this year is the year of the forever house. We moved in August and looked for quite a while for a home. It’s not our forever house, but a good ‘for now’ place.
I do like Johnny Cash but not too much into the other 2 but they are great choices. My choices would be 1. Patricia The Stripper by Chris DeBurgh. 2. Tuesday Afternoon by the Moody Blues and 3. Sleigh Ride by Leroy Anderson. It’s so nice and snowy here I would love to take a nice sleigh ride. Good for you for trying to exercise that much per day. I have to get out a walk which i will start tomorrow even if it is just around the block. I am going for my pain infusion on Saturday and didn’t cancel this time because of Covid because I need the jolt juice. We have watched quite a few films and I always think I should write them down and post what I have seen each month. I don’t feel the need to go to Australia because of all the deadly animals there. That unassuming spider tops the list for me…the brown recluse spider..Yikes! We hope we can visit my hubby’s Aunt again up near Montreal but it depends on the Covid situation. I love the Indian totem and bear and hope people behave and wear the mask. Let’s hope the vaccine and time will shove this virus in the dark corners of history.
Good tunes and good answers. We’d never go to Australia though, they promote the killing of feral cats.
You are so funny. Nice choices for the music just not my style at all. Have a great day.
We always enjoy your posts. Some of it hard to relate as no kids and Dad is a Dood but good music just IS!
Awesome job, my friend! I love that you kept them all in a general christian song theme. Great song picks.
Fun post- music and humor! Cheers!
Good song choices!
Love the videos and your questions and answers.
I laughed out loud with the masked Indian. A wonderful sense of humor.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥
Great job on the song challenge. That mask is fun. Thanks for hosting. Have a great day! XO
Love the giant mask!! That is hilarious!
Hi, Cathy!
Happy Wild and Almost Wordless Wednesday to you, dear friend!
It’s a cool idea to follow your Rosanne Cash tribute with a live performance by her famous father. I always enjoy Johnny’s honest, straightforward delivery.
Your Hodgepodge goal to do vigorous exercise and hour-and-a-half each day is an ambitious one and I wish you success with it. If you guys subscribe to Apple + you’ve got lots of great binging ahead. I haven’t yet been able to convince Mrs. Shady to add the service to our budget, but there are several shows I’d love to watch. The same is true of Disney +. I do hope you have an opportunity to visit your DD in Maine sometime soon, perhaps this fall when the leaves are colorful in her part of the country. I know you and DH have been patiently searching for just the right dwelling to call your new home. Perhaps this will be the year it happens. I admire you for eating healthy. That practice combined with your daily exercise program will reap many health benefits in the years to come. Yessum, it is a masked world we now live in, and we must find reasons to smile through the inconvenience and painful reminders that come with it. I’ll be heading to the lab this morning, mask in hand, to have my blood drawn. It’s a way of life now. Won’t it be wonderful when we can resume our normal daily lives? When hardship is finally resolved and normal resumes we will never again take so many things for granted.
Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend Cathy!
