Angela from Mommy Time Out and I would like to welcome you to another edition of Wayback Wednesdays! Some of my favorite times spent in front of the TV after school watching old programs – Gilligan’s Island, Beverly Hillbillies, and The Andy Griffith Show.
My favorite episodes on The Andy Griffith Show were always ones which had singing. Sheriff Andy Taylor had a musical talent about him, but his ability really went far beyond what I imagined, as a child. In the 70s, Andy Griffith got back on the saddle…saddle as in his love for music again and began his impressive career as a gospel singer. In 1996 his gospel album, “I Love to Tell the Story – 25 Timeless Hymns” wins him a Grammy for best Southern gospel, country gospel, or bluegrass gospel album.
In memory of Andy Griffith and my grandpa who often would sing this song, I’ve selected this hymnal from Griffith’s Grammy winning album…
For the comedy dialogue, “What It Was Football” recorded by Griffith, check the bottom of yesterday’s post for a few laughs.
