Angela from Mommy Time Out and I like to welcome you to another mid-week round of fun with Wayback Wednesdays.
It appears she and I are on the same page as far as having a crazy, hectic week. Actually, I’m still coming off a wild weekend with DS high school graduation and all the fanfare that goes with such an event, but life will begin to slow down somewhat or at least this is my hopes.
Given this past weekend monumental affair, lets flashback!
- What do you remember most about your graduation – high school or college? My memories are vague since I graduated after I got married. I didn’t really fit in with my graduating high school class too well and had few friends. My college graduation memories are dim. However, I remember being disappointed because my folks couldn’t spend more than one night with us, which bummed me. All is forgiven, though.
- Have your kids reached this milestone? This is the last of our children to graduate high school. Hopefully, we can get this one to complete a college career with honors while achieving a secure outlook for his future.
- If you could say one thing to our future generation, what would that be? Always seek the Lord in all things – guidance in your studies, your personal relationships, your work ethics, your entire life and you’ll be okay.
Congratulations SMHEA Class of 2012!!!

My school graduation contained mixed feelings. My father preferred to take a nap than attend and when I got home he told me that his responsibility was over. I graduated, which was something he had never gotten to do. I turned down an art scholarship and Mom took me to an army recruiting office to join the military because I had to leave. My children and grandchildren have given me many proud moments with graduations, honors, weddings, births. I am proud of every accomplishment and every effort. When my parents drove from Michigan to Alabama for the basic training graduation that was a very special moment.
I tell mine that God knows their problems before they do and has worked out many of them before they arrive and others He awaits the opportunity to work with them to get through them and become closer to them in the interim. As a parent we begin to understand and appreciate the love He has for us.
Blessings.
To me, HS was all about ROTC. My HS graduation was bittersweet because of that. My final ROTC Awards Parade was devastating!
I truly felt life, as I knew it, was ending. It was ; I found out I couldn’t go into the military as planned. Thus a lifetime of autoimmune issues. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. I am going to have to follow this feature. I am looking for more writing things; my books are coing out soon!!
This is a very hectic week for me. We are leaving for Jekyll on Tuesday, and trying to get things organized is making me crazy!
Our oldest granddaughter graduated from college recently, and I am feeling VERY old right now.
