Watauga Lake

Posted on October 5, 2016

Thank you for joining in another week of not-so Wordless Wednesday. Today, I’m taking you to Watauga Lake in the Appalachian mountains between Elizabethton Tennessee and Boone North Carolina.

This is one of the prettiest lakes in our area or at least that’s what I think. The waterway traffic is usually not busy like many other lakes and nestled in the mountains conditions are generally cooler than most. It’s a beautiful, refreshing spot to visit every time we go to Boone.

The clouds hung low over us on our drive but lacked interest. I altered these images using the haze remover which makes the sky more dramatic and below I didn’t have the depth of field in my original so I manipulated the Affinity Photo to put the focus on my feathered friends. This one never lost sight of me.

Here is your chance to share your photos with Blogosphere. Just link your photo post, tweet the news, and join in the fun. It's that simple!

I am taking a blog hiatus beginning October 1st -17th but I do have my routine weekly posts scheduled. I will link with a few regulars, do return visits, and respond to comments. It’ll be sorta like I’m not away from Blogosphere. Meanwhile, the work continues on repairing blog posts and until I get everything tidied then I’ll continue to use today’s photo contribution spot as a double up with my global participation for Skywatch Friday.

Please join me for Friday Sillies and more Friday fun stuff!

I just realized I didn’t leave a comment on Wednesday! For shame. I am blaming the wee cold I battled that day. And here you have my Canadian fuzzy friends there too. ha. The sky is filled with the geese these days as they start their journey South. We have a huge flock on the water near our house and what a racket they make!
Beautiful views. I love the mood your edits gave it.

Les, that’s ok. I’m way behind in return visits. This week was filled with other tasks that I hadn’t planned, so balancing everything just hasn’t happened. Im glad you enjoyed the scenes & photo edits. I hope the worse of your cold has passed. Have a good weekend! ?

I’ve heard of Watauga Lake but never been there. It does look lovely–or at least the photos sure are nice.

Bible verse of the day

He therefore that ministereth to you the Spirit, and worketh miracles among you, doeth he it by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

4M Guidelines: Below are the 4M co-hostess. The rules are simple. Every other week, a suggested (not mandatory) theme is given to build your song picks. We're looking for embedded music to enjoy, one song or several. On the off weeks, we dance to whatever music moves you (your choice)! It's just that easy. Have fun and welcome to the party!
