Vol.2 March Friday Round-up #humor #SWF #CTST #Fill-ins

(Hello, Kittens & Dawgs! Another work week bites the dust or it almost has anyhow and it’s time for your dose of laughs!

Please join other photo enthusiasts from around the globe for more Skywatch Friday views!

Visibility was awesome when I noticed the tiny slice of moon in the morning sky with the sun just beginning to peek over the horizon. I braved the chilly temps, stepping out my front door to capture a rare night or in this case pre-dawn shot. I’m very glad that I did, too.

If you liked this photo, then you may want to check out my Wednesday zoom shot of the moon!

Today, I Celebrate The Small Things with Lexa!

I’m celebrating…DH is officially a full-time employee again. Yay!  We were able to sign up for medical insurance which makes me happy, as it’s time for overdue health checkups. I’m celebrating capturing the above cool shot of the moon. It’s not often I get to take pictures like this, so it was a real treat to snap a few pre-dawn, night sky shots on a clear morning with the moon barely visible. I just love it when things come together this purrfect! 😉 Also, I celebrate DS’s sprain ankle because he could’ve broken it in his basketball injury. That’s what happened to his Dad when he was about 2-years old.

What are you celebrating?

Let’s continue the fun with Friendly Fill-Ins with Annie and Ellen. Every Thursday four fun and easy blank statements are posted for us to borrow, complete, and share on our site. The point is to simply have fun linking, reading, and meeting others who enjoy this sort of thing.

Here’s my response to this week’s fill-ins:

(1) I hope the new 24 gets renewed for another season.

(2) My first crush was more than likely was an actor or singer but that’s been too long ago to say for sure. I do recall liking this older boy who was a friend of my friend and I’m not sure I remember his name now.

(3) Spring blooms usually make me extremely giddy and excited.

(4) If I were a super-hero, I would be Chronovision Girl (made up character) because it would be cool to see any point in time – past, present, or future to help mankind.

Beginning next week on DH’s off Fridays, I will only post my Friday Sillies.  It’s a bit difficult to keep up with visitors when I take the weekend off. That’s a wrap for now but you’re invited to hit the dance floor (mewsic theme – Band Name or Song Titles with the word ‘Air’) on Mondays Mewsic Moves Me

Until next time, have a laughtastic weekend!

    1. You commented under the correct post of the sliver of a moon hanging in a beautiful morning sky. I appreciate you stopping by for a visit. Have a good week!

    1. Thanks, Tonja! We’re pretty excited. I hope THIS job holds us over until DH is ready to retire. The years are fleeting and it’ll be no time before he can consider to step away from job…that is if the economy doesn’t fall to pieces or our 401k. All we can do is the best we can and pray for God’s protection. 🙂

    1. David, I noticed daffodils bloomed in our neighborhood and the trees are popping open. This week will be cool but then next forecast is calling for spring-like temps again. I’m just anxious for it to stay around. Have a good week!

    1. Peter, it was one of those rare morning opportunities that I happened to look outside to see just how gorgeous the sky was and I’m glad I didn’t miss it!

  1. Wow, I am glad you have insurance. That is so important. I do love your moon shots. Excellent. My first celebrity crush was Bobby Sherman. I even saw him in concert. You super-hero was a great idea! I can SEE you as that! Hugs. Enjoy your DH!

    1. Annie, I remember Bobby Sherman back in the day but I don’t think I had a crush on him. I did have one on David Cassidy, though. 🙂

      1. In 1972, I saw David Cassidy at the Houston Astrodome. I saw the Osmonds, too. And numerous country stars: Buck Owens, Faron Young, Roy Clark, Marty Robbins, Glen Campbell, Roy Acuff, Conway Twitty, and many others. I confess: I had a crush on Buck, too.

        1. Annie, You lucky girl! I had a crush on David Cassidy and Donny Osmond. That must have been awesome for you, huh? You got live a lot of young girls’ dreams seeing these two teen idols! 🙂

  2. How awesome you got new insurance! The older we get, the more important that is. So congrats on that and yay for the lovely night and crescent moon pic. Thank goodness your son’s leg is only sprained. Have a good week!

    1. Lexa, It’s good to have health insurance at any age but you’re right the older we get the more problems we encounter. DS got lucky with the sprained foot. It could’ve been worse. God is so good!

  3. Thank you for those great answers. I haven’t watched the new 24, I will have to check it out. That would be a great super power to have. Congratulations on DH’s full-time and health insurance. That was a wonderful shot of the moon. Have a great weekend!

    1. Ellen, The new 24 will have its finale in a couple of weeks. It appears you can stream all episodes on Fox still. That’s how we’ve been watching the show. We often do not have time to see a program when it actually airs. Thanks for popping by for a visit!

  4. Hi, Cathy!

I’m the poster boy for sleep deprivation lately, and so I decided to stay in bed longer today before beginning my blog rounds. It’s a good thing I wasn’t sipping my coffee when I read your “hearing aids” cartoon or I would have sprayed the screen and keyboard. 🙂

I admire that picture of the moon slice that you snapped in the pre-dawn cold. You should caption it: “By the light of the slivery moon.” Slivery, not silvery, get it? 🙂

It is indeed a blessing that DH is up to full time employment status and you can both enjoy the benefits.

Are saying that you can vouch for The New 24 as being a good show? Mrs. S and I are loving Haven and watch it practically every evening. I am celebrating having a friend like you who shares my taste in TV. Your answer to the superhero question makes me think you would appreciate the Timeless series about which I recently posted. There is also another new sci-fi time travel series on ABC entitled Time After Time in which H.G. Wells uses a time machine to chase Jack The Ripper to the future (2016). The series made its debut a few days ago but I haven’t seen it. Have you?

Have a wonderful weekend, dear friend Cathy!

    1. Tom,

DH is always sleep deprived. He rarely gets a full nights rest. You should allow yourself to sleep in when you can, especially if you’re short on Zs. I try to get DH to take a nap on the weekends but he won’t have it. He says it’ll mess him up and he’s probably right. I just wish he slept better.

Oh yes, I caught your clever play with the photo caption suggestion. I wish I had been that clever! 🙂

Definitely, the new 24 is a recommendation! We loved the series with Kieffer Sutherland and his shoes as Jack Bauer is a hard fill, so we decided to go into this series with the hopes it would be a good program and it hasn’t disappointed us. All of the episodes are still available for streaming or viewing online. The finale will be in a couple of weeks. I hope they re-up for a season two. I’m delighted you and Mrs. S are enjoying “Haven”.

Thanks for telling me about “Time After Time”. I will have to check into this one. I’m sorry for being so late to respond to your comment but I just felt I needed a break this weekend from cyberspace. Have a good week, my friend!

  5. That’s why my hearing is affected! 🙂 love this picture with the bit of moon in the deep blue sky. My first crush was on a worker for my dad on the sawmill. My parents owned a sawmill where I grew up on and I followed this man everywhere until he looked at me and asked why I was following him. I was so embarrassed that I ran away and then stayed away. He is probably in his 70’s now. If I could I would be travel girl. I could travel anywhere I want to go in a blink of an eye.

  6. Hi Cathy,

    How are you doing?

What a beautiful image with the moon at sunrise! You are blessed to live in such a beautiful place. 🙂

I love the dancing kitty. So cute! It must think it is John Travolta. haha

Chronovision Girl sounds like a cool superhero!

    Have a blessed weekend. 🙂

    1. Suzanne,

It’s great seeing you! I’m doing fine, my friend. Yes, I agree we are blessed to live in a wonderfully beautiful part of the country! Oh, shucks my dancing kitty can out dance John Travolta any day. 😀

  7. Hello Cathy, I love your pretty moon photo. A lovely night sky! Your fills are fun, thanks for sharing. Happy Friday, enjoy your weekend!

    1. Eileen, so glad you liked my moon capture & fill-in responses. I’m sorry for being late to respond but I felt a break was needed. I’m heading your way now. Have a good week! 😉
