Vol.1 March Friday Round-up #humor #SWF #CTST #Fill-ins

Hello, Kittens & Dawgs! This week we watched on month end and a new one begin. Old man winter is creeping out the door, slowly.  How has this week treated you?  I announced last week that I’d be combining all of my Friday material in one easy to find post while I work on my A-Z posts.

First things first, let’s start our morning off with a laugh.

Please join other photo enthusiasts from around the globe for more Skywatch Friday views!

This is a view from my porch – a beautiful sunrise mid-February. The day started off gorgeous and clear on Valentine’s Day, then it changed drastically gray. It was like two days in one. In the distance, you can a silhouette of the Smoky Mountains.

Today, I Celebrate The Small Things with Lexa!

I’m celebrating… the excellent progress I’m making in next month’s challenge. I will officially announce my theme later in the month but it’s something I put off doing for years because I didn’t have time and I felt I couldn’t do it well (see fill-ins’ question #3). All it took was an attitude to just have fun. I can’t wait to tell you what I have planned.

What are you celebrating?

Let’s continue the fun with Friendly Fill-Ins with Annie and Ellen. Every Thursday four fun and easy blank statements are posted for us to borrow, complete, and share on our site. The point is to simply have fun linking, reading, and meeting others who enjoy this sort of thing.

Here’s my response to this week’s fill-ins:

(1)  My favorite herb or spice is cinnamon. I love adding it to hot cereal or in my cheerios.

(2)   An herb or spice I dislike is probably nothing. I can’t think of one I don’t like right now and I tend to buy only those I’m familiar with.

(3)  Lately, I have been working on sketches for next month’s A-Z Challenge and am really enjoying developing new pieces every day.

(4)  This Winter was cold at times but overall it wasn’t too bad but it’s not over yet so I won’t hold my breath.

That’s a wrap for now but you’re invited to hit the dance floor (mewsic theme –  your mewsic choice) on Mondays Mewsic Moves Me

Until next time, have a laughtastic weekend!

  1. There’s this Facebook post a man wrote after falling into the toilet bowl one dark night and I swear it’s the funniest thing I’ve ever read. Suffice to say afterward, he never left the lid up again and apologized profusely to women. LOL
I love cinnamon. I even put it in my hot chocolate. And I sprinkled some on my toast this morning.

    1. Les, Mmm, cinnamon in hot chocolate sounds like a good compliment. I don’t believe I’ve done that but I certainly will give it a try. 🙂 Oh, that’s rich about the man falling into the commode! This needs to happen more often so they can fully understand just how frustrating it for women. 🙂

  2. That first comic totally cracked me up!! 🙂 What a beautiful sunrise you captured! Crazy how days like those seem to be two different days, right?

Your excitement is infectious, by the way – I’ve decided to follow your lead and participate in the A-Z challenge, and have been working on my theme, too! I’m really excited about it, and while it’s going to be a challenge, it’s certainly a welcome one! I’m looking forward to seeing what your chosen theme is, too! 🙂

I love cinnamon, too! It’s one of the prominent spices in my Swedish Grandmother’s recipes that I love. 🙂 And it sounds like you’ve had the same kind of winter we’ve had – it’s slowly creeping out, we had some snow this morning (but the ground was too warm for it to stick or accumulate, just fun watching it falling from the sky). Looks like our warm-up won’t be happening for another week, but once it starts, it’s going to keep going! 🙂

Have a great weekend, Cathy – I’ll be doing the MMMM rounds later today after Princess Nagger gets her hair chopped off at the salon. 🙂

Friendly Fill-Ins While Celebrating the Small Things to make Friday Fun!

    1. Stacy, I don’t worry about the toilet seat being up anymore but there was a time when that wasn’t always the case and let’s just say there’s been a time or two when this very thing happened to me. 🙂 Oh snap, you’re doing the A-Z Challenge, too! It’s a crazy April ride but I can’t imagine doing anything different. I’ll be sure to watch for your posts. It’s a cool temp weekend but tomorrow’s forecast and the next few days hold promises of warmer weather. I’m ready for spring! I’m getting my haircut today, too. We do it at home. Years ago, we bought a Flowbee and it works great for short hair styles. It might work on longer hair, too. It saves us a ton of money and time. Have a good weekend!

  3. I love the comics and the lovely sunset pic! I can’t wait to read your sketchs. A-Z is hard, so it’s good you’re starting early. Have a wonderful weekend!

    1. Lexa, It was a gorgeous morning when I snapped that photo and I’m looking forward to more to come. Oh yes, starting early on the A-Z Challenge is a must to keep up with things. I’m more than half-way through the alphabet so I’m doing alright. I still need to scan my artwork to the computer but that won’t take too long, though. Thanks for stopping by!

  4. That’s a lovely view! I love cinnamon and garlic…and a lot of other things too. Can’t wait to see what’s coming up in the next month!

  5. I love that toilet seat joke because it’s true! I would argue with my first husband and got really steamed when I fell in once in the middle of the night. My hubby now always makes sure the seat is down. Love the picture you took and I am looking forward to your sketches! I love garlic!!

    1. Birgit, DH is good to not leave the seat up but years ago every time we visited my in-laws and DH’s oldest brother visited, he was horrible for doing this and I got a few shocks a time or two. That being said, when he came to see us I asked him to please put the seat down after his nightly visits. lol Garlic is a good herb. I love it in most things!

  6. That is a beautiful view you have. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Cinnamon is tasty. I look forward to your sketches for the A-Z. Have a great weekend!

  7. I like cinnamon as well. I’ve wished that there was a cinnamon flavored soft drink or some kind of drink that tasted like the Hot Tamales candies. I’ve heard that cinnamon is good for keeping blood sugar levels in check.
