Thank you for popping in today, Kittens & Dawgs, and Merry Christmas! Funny songs like this one always make me think of the lyrics, Jingle Bells shotgun shells rabbit got away and so I thought, why not put together a Twisted Christmas Carols edition!
Do you enjoy twisted Christmas carols? What Christmas song parodies are your favorite?
Today’s photo contribution with the SWF team of photo enthusiasts. This past Wednesday, I shared A little creek in the cove. Here’s another shot with a bit of a gray sky view. Autumn’s wardrobe was not gone on this day unlike it is in our area this year. I wonder if the hot summer or fall drought is the reason, do you know? Anywho, getting the right exposure at times like this is tricky. The sky really didn’t hold a lot of interest but the landscape certainly was pretty.
Are autumn leaves still clinging to trees in your neck of the woods or have they all fallen?
Let’s continue the fun with Friendly Fill-Ins with Annie and Ellen. Every Thursday four fun and easy blank statements are posted for us to borrow, complete, and share on our site. The point is to simply have fun linking, reading, and meeting others who enjoy this sort of thing.
Here’s my response to this week’s fill-ins:
- I have a hard time finding a gift for my father-in-law. We’ve always had trouble coming up with something for both DH’s parents. They never expressed wanting anything and they nearly have everything.
- I have no problem finding a gift for my children. They are the easiest to buy for because there are so many things they can use being young adults from tools to kitchen gadgets.
- One of the best gifts I ever gave was the presents that I thought “this is something I would like to get”. Someone told me years ago the best guide to shopping for others is to ask, “is this something you like” and so when I buy a gift that’s the way I try to think.
- One of the best gifts I ever received was my engagement ring and the promise of marriage to DH.

Ok the first song was too funny and the second song was sick….hahahaaaa. The Bambi burgers made me chuckle along with theceeer seeing the headlights. I want to put that first song on my Facebook page:)
Birigit, so glad you enjoyed the twisted carols! Yeah, add the first to your FB page to keep house guests who tend to over stay their welcome away! lol
I have a Bob Rivers parody Christmas album too!!! I think the Buttcracker Suite is my absolute favourite. oh my gosh, I’m dying just thinking about it.
Lovely landscape. And congrats to DH! Wonderful news.
Les, thanks for the congrats. DH and I are excited that he’s finally got a job. The best part it is local. Electrical Engineering positions are tight in our area, so we’re very thankful for God giving us this opportunity.
Yay! Huge congrats for your husband and the job! You should do a big happy dance 🙂
Tonja, I did do a happy dance and have been giddy ever since he got the news! I think 2017 is going to be a fantastic year! 😉
OMG! I’m so happy for you and your husband about the new job!!! It’s been a while and it’s great to know his persistence paid off. Your silly Christmas songs cracked me up! Thanks for the laughs and have a wonderful weekend!
Lexa, yes DH was out for almost 18-months. So, we’re thrilled to have this opportunity. God works on our behalf all the time, we just gotta be patient. That’s the hardest part, too. I’m glad you enjoyed the sillies! Have a good week!
Beautiful photo of the creek. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Have a nice weekend!
Ellen, I’m glad you like the view of the creek. It’s a nice spot to enjoy a picnic lunch, which we’ve done many times over the years.
I love the kitty 🙂
And it is a time of such good music.
That is a very good photo Cathy.
Happy Friday!
Thank you, Colette! You’re such a sweetie.
My girls and I are enjoying the songs-thank you! We lost all our color when the cold air arrived, but we had a late and lovely fall.
Tamara, our colors are still clinging a tiny bit. What a crazy year!
Hi Cathy!
Yessum, this turned out to be a great year for you guys and I am very happy for you. 🙂
I always enjoy your Friday Sillies and I laughed out loud at the twisted Christmas carols. especially the “12 Pains.” Mrs. Shady heard me chuckling and came to my office to find out what was so funny. I told her I would email that video to her. What makes these songs so funny is that they tell the truth about how stressful and unpleasant certain aspects of the holidays can be. Of course you know that I can relate to the first song “We Wish You Weren’t Living With Us.” 🙂
I am happy to see that you scared away that creature at the creek in the cove, the big black one with those piercing orange eyes, before he could attack. 🙂 Believe it or not, there are some colored leaf displays in our part of Florida at this time of year, not very many, just enough to hint at fall. However we are still running the air conditioner day and night and eagerly awaiting a cool down.
Thanks for another amewsing Friday post, dear friend Cathy, and have a wonderful weekend!
Tom, that spooky creature vanished for this picture. I must have scared him off after shooting that prior shot. lol
