The Tulip
~Thomas B. Davies
The Tulips strength is in its stem
It holds it’s head so strong and straight
Into the soil it sinks so deep
There it stays til it’s time to reap
The Tulips beauty is in its head
It’s colour varies from yellow to red
Find a colour, find a room
Leave it there and it will bloom
The Tulips warmth is in its petals
They overlap and keep so tight
When it’s dark they close right up
And open up when it is light
When uncut in fields of plenty
Dancing to the winds own beat
Watch them swaying in the breeze
You’ll think this sight is such a treat.
Sunday morning, we drove the Dogwood Trail in Sequoyah Hills, one of the oldest and prestigious areas, in town. We love taking our annual pilgrimage to enjoy the lovely homes and gardens while daydreaming of owning a place as spectacular as this…
Okay, this home is a bit over the top for our taste. I prefer a cozier homestead that suits my personality and lifestyle.
My musical flashback brings to mind, Flower by Kylie Minogue. Listen and be moved!
