Tuesday Talk Time: Change

If you’re scratching your head and thinking, “Hmm, this blog looks familiar.” There is a perfectly good reason this is, especially if you have been a regular visitor of Cathy Kennedy’s Blog.

For some time I have felt the need to change my web address to match a new blog name, so Curious as a Cathy was born inside the ramblings of my tiny mind while on stay-cation last month. This site is under construction, as you can clearly see. The good news is nearly all my content from my first blog transferred over in the migration. I kinda feel like I am getting a new start, but this time I know what I am doing…sorta…kinda…oh shoot, yeah I’ve got the blogging knack thingy down! *grin* And, am happy to be making this change.

Change? Who ever gets use to the DST change? I realize there isn’t much we can do about the curtain of darkness falling earlier each night till after the winter solstice, but to purposely set our clocks back an hour is ridiculous.

Speaking of night fall, I captured this interesting photo one afternoon while on stay-cation with my DH. We were fixing to go into a store when I spied this.

Thinking of day turning to-night made me think of the TV series I am currently watching on Netflix. I am not what you call a huge fan, but I am somewhat drawn to movies about creatures of the night. I have watched in its entirety the Buffy and Angel’s series. These shows made vampires or at least all of them except for one or two pretty much the bad guys. Vampires are dead people…without a soul…who feed on human blood…that turn into monsters…right?

The Vampire Diaries has these elements, too. However, the writers of the show have given their vampire characters the ability to switch their humanity on and off resembling a human with a soul…who can make mistakes…if their blood lust isn’t under control. Initially, I had a difficult time wrapping my brain around this whole story line. I know vampires, if they really existed,  are truly wicked things. This concerns me a wee bit for those who can’t separate these basic truths. That being said,  I can distinguish between good and evil. I do know that this show is totally fiction. There is no truth to it whatsoever, which allows me to enjoy the human-like quality in these vampires.

Before I begin my morning hop, please share my news about my brand new blog with your friends. The blog change excites me and hope it excites you, too.  Now, grab a cup of coffee and join me as I visit my regular Tuesday morning coffee and random chat buds!

Have a terrific Tuesday!

  1. My brave friend and her new blog. Yay, CAthy! I had to laugh when I saw the capital A after the C. I type just fast enough that I almost always forget to raise my finger after the first capital letter, and the subsequent one gets a capital too! Drives me batty!

  2. Hey Cathy, like the new minimalist look of your blog, but can’t help but wonder if you are going to leave it like this 🙂 And the moon picture is really good.

  3. I truly hope your move is going smoothly! And so what is the story behind your new name. I’m a bit curious & so you will not be at your old blog anymore? Or did I miss that info. Well, good luck with the new home. It is almost like moving your own home isn’t it? There is so much to do. HUGS.

  4. Things are looking very nice here. I wish they would pick one time or the other and stop changing. The change is what makes me crazy.

  5. Love the new name! Can’t wait to see what other changes you have in store. I am a huge Twilight fan and got into watching The Vampire Diaries when my daughter got totally into it. I look at it as some great entertainment and enjoy the show. 🙂

  6. nice new digs my friend! Followed you via email so I won’t miss a thing. (and because I am the dummy that realized too late that Google Connect was leaving and now have to go back and find all my blogs to follow via email. doh)

Creatures of the night – the vampires, the zombies, etc. all fascinate me too. For the very fact that they, by literary tradition, don’t have a soul. Due to that, we think them evil; that they are “damned”. But if you think about it — it’s very contrary to the fundamental Christian concept of “free will”. Most of them never had a choice in the first place. Another creature bit them or whatever and took away that free choice. So I think it’s completely logically that a vampire might struggle with the idea of their being damned against their will, and, their own human nature that is still possible buried inside. It’s fascinating to ponder: what would we all be like, or do, if that concept of Free Will was removed?
