This week’s Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me theme is your choice song picks. Normally on the first of the month I put together a BoTB. I have yet to get totally back in line with my routine blog schedule. 4. No Doubt (Gwen Stefani) ~ Smood ft. the Voice of Rita
  5. Creep (Radiohead) ~ Karen Souza
  6. Changes (Black Sabbath) ~ Charles Bradley
  7.  Umbrella (Rhianna) ~ Postmodern Jukebox ft. Casey Abrams & The Sole Sisters

This month’s honorary co-hostess is Mary from Jingle, Jangle, Jungle!

DISCLOSURE…this is a mewsic linky party, which means all participates are sharing songs that one can listen to from YouTube or Vimeo and a not a post about mewsic or mewsicians.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

I’m going to finish things up with the Q&A session The What’s So Special Questions on Monday Madness.

1. Tell us about a special piece of cookware, dinnerware, or kitchen item in your home that has sentimental valueI’d have to say some pie plates my late MIL gave me. They’re the plain deep dish Anchor Hocking pie plates. It’s nice having them because I know how much she loved making pies for her family and she was an awesome at that job, too!

2. Is there one piece of jewelry you always wear that reminds you of someone or brings back a special memory? If so, tell us about it. It would have to be my rings, specifically my engagement ring. I’m reminded of how much DH loves me every time I look at it. This is my second one. I lost my original one shortly after our son was born which broke my heart. Several years later, he surprised me with the one I’m wearing on Christmas Eve just like he did the first time. 🙂

3. When you go out for a meal (yes, folks, those were the good ‘ole days) do you make special requests having to do with food choices, extra condiments, seating arrangements, special instructions for how your food is cooked and the like? What are your special requests? With a few of our favorite restaurants we know which booth we prefer, otherwise with any restaurants we go to we request a booth over a table.

4. What makes your home special to you and your family? I think it’s the memories. Whenever we find another house it’s going to be difficult to let go of this place for that reason alone.

5. We’ve had a lot of time to think up ways to make our lives more interesting while on lock down. What do you do to make an otherwise ordinary day/night more special?  In other words, what does your “special night” look like?  DH is working from home. During the week, we keep things pretty much the same but on the weekends I usually make home-made pizza or sometimes I make a new entree. I’m having a lot of fun experimenting and testing out new recipes. DH enjoys it, too.

6. You are waiting for an exciting special delivery! What’s in the box? The newest iPad Pro! 🙂 I’m not ready for a new one quite yet but that’s the first thing to come to mind.

7. When is the last time you went on a special assignment? I don’t have to go anywhere to be on a special assignment. I find plenty of things that need my attention to research online either for us or just for my blog. The last thing I researched was ill effects relating amalgam dental fillings. I wondered if they might be contributing to my frequent headaches and other minor health issues.

8. If you were saving a bottle of wine for a special occasion, what would the occasion be and who would be in attendance? This doesn’t apply to me because I don’t drink. Anything else that’s tasty to drink would be my preference.

9. What is the last “special report” or “breaking news report” you heard? I try to avoid MSM whenever possible. I wait for DH to inform me of any important news updates.

10. Who or what in your life gets special treatment? DH always!

That’s a wrap for now.  I’ll be back tomorrow with more mewsic, Tickle Me Tuesday giggles, and another Tuesday4 questions. Have a boogietastic week!  X💋X💋, Cathy

  1. I never even knew jazz covers were “a thing”. I just loved the two Post Modern Jukebox covers, especially Umbrella. Also enjoyed the Charles Bradley cover. I hope you can feature more Post Modern Jukebox videos one day. Too bad you had to remove the 2nd video; I love U2’s original and would have been curious as to what a jazz cover would have been like.

  2. Girlfriend, First of all WOW! This guy is awesome and my hubby liked it too I showed it to him. He use to do something similar when he was writing songs. It’s amazing what you can do if you know what you’re doing!!! 🙂 Anyway, I was gone all day and I got home really late… had a late supper and sat down here and I’m still chompin’ away at the bit here trying to answer everybody! So great choices my friend! HUGS and have a wonderful week! BIG HUGS… ROCK ON!!!!

    1. Marie,

We all have busy days it seems. I know we’re having our share of them, too. Thanks for stopping by in the wee hours to boogie with me, darlin’!

  3. Nice music choices and great answers. I am glad DH got you a new ring. XO

  4. I’ve had Charles Bradley on my M10 a couple times, starting with Changes. So sad to lose him.

    1. I think Charles Bradley’s passing shot over my head. I DuckDuckGoed to learn he died in September 2017. I do remember that was a hectic year for us so I guess this is how it slipped my mind. “Crazy” might be the only song I’m familiar with by Bradley. I will check out “Changes” on YT to see if it rings a bell. Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Cathy!

This is truly a different take on the music. Reminds me of a few videos I stumbled across recently that were done in medieval style. Very interesting. Thank you so much for joining in both the #4M and #RMF today! I look forward to your upcoming posts!

    1. Tom,

WOW, that’s cool! I’m not a concert goer but part of wishes that I were. My hearing is horrible. I don’t need to damage my ears anymore. Thanks for boogieing by, my friend. Rock on!

    1. Brian,

Our son liked banging on the kitchen pots and pans. It was a lot of racket but short lived. DH played drums in school. He’s self taught.

  6. I love hearing about your family pie tins. My mother had a big recipe book and several pieces of equipment that I would love to have had, but she, a Virgo, realized she never used them any more so just threw them away. I am particularly sad about the cookbook!

I’ve gotten into cooking pizza more often too. My DIL, who lives with us, is very picky about food but she loves pizza, so I try to make it every 2 weeks or so. I use a great recipe for crust from the Pioneer Woman and my DIL just likes cheese and mushrooms, so the pizza is very easy to make.

Thanks for coming to Funny the world and answering Sunday Stealing questions.

    1. Bev,

Ahhh, that’s too bad your mother ditched those things. I know you would’ve liked having that stuff. I found a real easy pizza crush recipe on the net when I got started back at the first of the year that’s worked out successfully each time. Sometimes I use my Focaccia bread recipe for pizza crust which is excellent! We are allergic to mushrooms so there’s no place for those in any of my cooking/baking. I absolutely love making home-made pizza! This has been a really nice because we used to order Pizza Hut every weekend before the pandemic hit so I’m glad I took up pizza making when I did. 😉

  7. For Monday Madness–I’m not much of an alcohol fan but I don’t save anything for special occasions: any occasion is special!

  8. Awww, I remember the pots and pans and the constant noise. Fond memories.

    I love your video.

I love your Q and A. You and I are both loving our hubbies. It’s a wonderful thing.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs. ♥

    1. Sandee,

We’re blessed with good husbands who deserve to be treated special every day or whenever possible. 🙂 Have a good day, darlin’!

  9. That was a very interesting list, CK, and some were very funny…like the umbrella…MOL…We have to get used to the songs when someone else sings them, it’s a whole new world, but very nice😸We liked the answers on the questions, and now let’s make some noise with the cutest little baby ever…MOL😺Pawksses for a Swinging Monday🐾😽💞

    1. Binky,

I like to spice things up a little that’s why I went with covers of these songs. Thanks for reading my responses to the MM questions. Have a pAwwesome day!

  10. Love the answer to the questions. I would provide very similar answers to some. We do request a booth over a table at restaurants. Next tot he cooktop in the kitchen is a small dish/bowl filled with salt. It sat on the counter in my grandmothers house and served the same purpose. Taste your food and if it needs a pinch of salt, the dish is close by. Likewise, we would choose something non-alcoholic to celebrate.
This will likely be the most unique playlist I will hear to day and I really liked the arrangement of Crazy. Have a blessed week.

    1. Driller,

Thanks reading through my Q&A session while you listened to my playlist. I would’ve suspected your responses might be similar to mine. I usually figure folks who are the same page as me probably find themselves saying, yeah that’s the way I feel, too. I’ll be by your place soon, my friend. Have a great week!

  11. Hi, Cathy!

Happy Awww-some 4M & Rocktober Mewsic Fest Monday Madness, dear friend! I hope you and DH had a good weekend.

On your set of vintage-style jazz covers of rock songs, I found Eric’s version of “Back In Black” a little disturbing in a not so good way, but the second cover, the one by Michelle Simonal, is much more to my liking. Michelle sounds a lot like Billie Davis, the English artist I am featuring again this week. You can always count on Postmodern Jukebox to bring you a HQ performance, and featured vocalists Hannah Gill & Casey Abrams are terrific. The second PMJB number, “Umbrella,” featuring the tap dancing Sole Sisters, is a knock-out. I also enjoyed the atmospheric cover by Smood ft. the Voice of Rita. Perhaps it should read “the SMOKY voice of Rita.” 🙂 I also like Karen Souza’s performance. I can picture her as a lounge singer doing that number at 4 am when everybody, including her and the band, are wiped out. Everyone knows they’re up too late but they just don’t care. (I’ve been there.) Charles Bradley’s vocal style takes me back to the 60s and early 70s and gravel-voiced R&B singers like James Brown and Wilson Pickett. Recently I discovered another male artist who is similar to Charles and I will be presenting his best performances in future posts on SPMM. Ariana Savalas has a powerful voice and lots of pizzazz to her singing style. I like her, too. You picked a bunch of great female artists for me to investigate, Cathy!

In your answers to What’s So Special Questions, the first one reminded me of the dishes and ornate tumblers Mrs. Shady inherited from her deceased mother. Those treasured items have great sentimental value to her, and I am afraid to handle or even get near them for fear of breaking one because, in doing so, it would break her heart. I hear you about becoming attached to your home and how hard it is to leave when it’s time to move. Mrs. Shady and I have moved several times over the years. Every place we leave behind held special memories. I’d love to taste your home-made pizza! You and I have one big thing in common. We don’t drink alcoholic beverages. It has been more than 28 years now since a had a single sip and I don’t miss it. DH is a very lucky man to have someone as sweet as you to treat him special.

I enjoyed your Monday multi-hop blitz, dear friend Cathy, and I’ll see you tamale for more mewsic and fun on Tickle Me Tuesday!

    1. Tom,

I’m jumping hoops this month to get as much in my posts that I can. I keep asking myself how long can I keep this up before I fizzle out? I’ll push myself for as long as I can. Thanks for taking time to listen to my playlist. I’m happy that you overall seemed to like it with the exception of Eric’s version of “Back In Black”. I thought he was kind a neat laying all the instruments down. His vocals aren’t the best but still I have to give the fella credit.

Precious gifts passed down from those we love will always hold special places in our hearts. I’m glad Mrs. Shady has somethings that belonged to her mother. I need to get my recipe together to share. If I do then maybe Mrs. Shady would like to make it for you. Does she like pizza? I can’t imagine no one not liking it. Thanks for dropping by today for some mewsic and a chance to get to know me a little better. Have a boogietastic week, dear friend!
