Thursday2Q: Old/New Year

Taylor Davis is young violinist I stumbled upon during a recent BoTB showdown. I liked her style and found some of her original songs on YouTube.

Howdy, Kittens & Dawgs! How’s the new year going for ya so far? All is well here but then it’s too early to say for sure. Anywho, I’m trying to get back to some of my blogging basics in which I did a lot of Q&A prompts.  Years ago, I co-hosted Thursday Two Questions with another blogger. It was a great way to start conversation while learning new things about one another. The object is to either use questions posed here or to create your own (if you choose to come up with your own then please respond to mine in comments for others to get to know you better).

  1. Name one thing about 2017 that you’re glad to say goodbye to? I’ll state the obvious, DH’s eye problem.  I hope that is far, far behind us and that only things will only improve.

2. Tell me one thing that has you excited about the new year? Other than the getting the other two surgeries out-of-the-way for DH’s eye which we hope will fix him right up then the one thing that really has me excited is the prospect of moving into a new home. This is something I’ve wanted for years and we’re committed to trying to see this dream turn into a reality. fingers crossed

I hope you enjoyed my little Q&A session. Eventually, I hope to include other Thursday hop connections. If you visit my Daily Blog Hop page you’ll find a few listed. Some of which I participated in last year but my timing was off and I couldn’t latch on to them properly. I hope to change that this year. Wish me luck! I invite you to stroll back over tomorrow for some giggles and a whole lot more of Friday Fun Stuff!  X💋X💋, Cathy

  1. Hi, Cathy!

You were nice enough to make time for me again today so I am making it my business to be here for you. Our house guest has left for California, but Mrs. Shady and I have been working almost nonstop all day long packing and cleaning and preparing for our move this month. My availability for blogging will be spotty all next week and then I will be breaking away for a month for the actual move.

I was pleased to listen to “Tales Of The Wind” played by violinist Taylor Davis, another new-to-me artist. On your Q’s & A’s, I would answer #1 as follows: I am glad to say goodbye to the 2017 hurricane season. It’s hard on the nerves sweating out the season and especially grueling to have a cane heading toward you with the intensity and forecast track changing minute by minute. On question #2 my answer is this: I am excited about the big surprise I keep hinting about on my blog. I don’t want to be a spoiler so you’ll just need to stay tuned. 🙂

Thank you again for being such a great and faithful friend, Cathy!

    1. Tom,

I know you are super duper busy with your upcoming move, one that wasn’t planned but forced upon you with your landlord’s sudden decision to sell. At least now that your quest has left you can devote the time needed to get this job done quicker. I’m glad you found a few minutes to break away to stop in for a quick visit while listening to Taylor Davis and answering my questions. I can understand why you’re happy to say goodbye to the hurricane season. I can’t imagine living in Florida where there’s often a high threat of your home/property being damaged or destroyed totally by these systems. I’m anxious to learn about this surprise you’ve teased your readers about on your blog and again you left a dangling carrot for me here. Have a good weekend, my friend!

  2. Buh-bye 2017 and I hope we learned some lessons. Welcome 2018, a year to realize we must live every moment to its fullest.

    1. Eugenia,

I do believe we need to live every second to its fullest. That’s something I’m always learning about and often don’t take advantage of but should. I definitely learned lessons last year and chances are good I will this year, too. 😉

  3. The music is very pretty and she is an excellent violinist. I am looking forward to seeing your new home when you purchase it. Your pictures will be fun to see. What are “must haves” for your new home? I know I would want the laundry room on the main level because I find it dumb to have to carry bulky baskets up and down the stairs. I am glad to say goodbye to my mom almost dying-August to October was horrible. I am looking forward to feeling less pain and being able to walk more.

    1. Birgit,

“Must haves” in our new home would be a two-car (minimum) garage, basement, laundry room, full master bathroom, 2 more full bathrooms, 2 more bedrooms, and a larger kitchen with lots of counter & cabinet space. 🙂 I don’t want to have to go up and down steps to do the laundry, either. I want a laundry room right off the kitchen or in the garage that’s on the main level. When I’m 90 years old I know stairs will be a problem, as I’ve seen my FIL. I hope this year is a good one for you and for your mother. Thanks for stopping by!
