Years ago, I featured a new-to-me artist or maybe one I hadn’t heard in a long time on Saturdays. I thought it would be fun to kick off this series again even if it isn’t done weekly. You can thank Tom from Shady’s Place Music and Memories for putting a fire under me to search out today’s artist pick.
In case you missed it, in my Top Ten Tuesday I used Elvis in my music line-up and like so often when someone says something my mind clicks in a somewhat related way to the conversation and replied to Tom by mentioning Lisa Marie. Naturally, I became curious and had to sample her music. All I remember was when she started out, I wasn’t too impressed. Perhaps, I was expecting her to be like her daddy. Whatever my thoughts were at the time, it was an injustice to her. She had talent but my mind was closed. After sampling her music I came to understand this and felt like she deserved a special feature in my comeback Saturday Songsuasion series.
Let’s give a warm welcome to Lisa Marie Presley with songs from her 2012 album, Storm & Grace!
No comments needed, but if you feel compelled to let me know that you stopped by then just click the “like” button. That’s good enough for me. This is for your enjoyment along, my friend!
Tomorrow, I’ll be back with Monday’s Music Moves Me on Sunday with songs about walking in another person’s shoes – spiritual or emotional in the workplace or at home and I’m saving a dance with you, so come join me on the dance floor.
A special thanks to you, Tom, for the inspirational spark needed to lead me back to this series. Have a songsational Saturday! x💋x💋, Cathy

Thanks for the tunes.
Thank you for stopping by, Mimi!
I don’t recall hearing anything my Lisa Marie before, not bad. Maxine is the best!
Brian,
Maxine is a cracker jack. The writer really knows what he’s doing. 🙂
Cathy
I just found you on a prepper blog link. You made my day. I like your style. Your drawings and choice of music have a buzz to them.It appears you live in the Knoxville area. I was just there. Stayed downtown at The Oliver. Knoxville is on my short list of places to move to. I live in WI and would like a little warmer climate in the winter and some mountains. I look forward to following you with my coffee in the morning.
Gary
Gary,
Thanks for stopping by my humble niche! What’s a prepper blog link? I generally link up with other bloggers who are hosting some sort of daily link up and perhaps that’s where you found my web address. Where you saw me, I’m always happy when new folks stop in for a visit. I had to see where The Oliver is downtown and as soon as I looked on Google Maps I recalled the hotel. We don’t go downtown much anymore. DH used to work downtown years ago while employed with TVA. That part of the city has changed so much in our 42 years of living here. Restaurants, bars, and a movie theater has helped to breathe new life into downtown. It’s really quite the hot spot for the younger crowd. They’ve added apartments and condo in what used to be old stores. We don’t go down there too much these days but sometimes it’s fun to drive through especially at Christmas as they decorate the streets so lovely. You’re in a very cold part of the country. Moving to east Tennessee would be quite a bit of warm up for you. We love here. I hope you’ll decided to pop in for visits whenever you can. Have a songsational week!
Hi, Cathy!
Happy Sensational Songsuasional Saturday, dear friend!
First, thanks for mentioning your friend Tom. (When he rips off his glasses and business suit, he turns into superhero Shady Del Knight!) Our minds must be linked, dear friend, because I have been busy working on a post that YOU inspired. In fact, that’s why I’m late getting over here. I was immersed in that post and the time slipped away.
Yessum, I remember you mentioning Lisa Marie Presley recently when you posted your set of Elvis songs. I was not familiar with Lisa Marie’s singing career and I must say that I am pleasantly surprised. She certainly doesn’t attempt to imitate her daddy. She has a style of her own. It strikes me as kinda dark and dangerous, black hat country, and I like it a lot. I especially favor the songs with a beat including “Over Me” and “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet,” (a different song from the one released in 1974 by Bachman–Turner Overdrive). I think my favorite song on this album is “So Long”. The melody is catchy, there are cool lyric hooks throughout and the arrangement cooks with lots of twangy bad boy guitar. It’s a winner!
I can relate to that old Crabby Road lady. It seems like every day of the week, all year round, there are loud machines buzzing in our neighborhood. They don’t wake me up because I am always awake before dawn anyway, but they do disturb the peace.
Thank you very much for introducing me to the mewsic of Lisa Marie Presley. I think you’ll get a kick out of the post I created based on a conversation that you and I had recently. I will be publishing it eleven days from now on the 22nd of the month. I’ll be back tamale for your 4M Monday on Sunday feature.
I wish you a safe, happy and restful weekend, dear friend Cathy!
Tom,
I appreciate you igniting this spark to get this series started again. As I mentioned, it may not happen every week but if I can pull one together every so often, then that would be great! When I first saw Lisa Marie’s song title, “You Ain’t Seen Nothin’ Yet” I thought of BTO’s song and wondered if she actually did a cover but as we both discovered, she did not. I’m not sure what song on the playlist is my favorite. I enjoyed the album. It’s a change from my usual stuff which made it interesting. I certain will give it another listen through and am happy that you enjoyed the introduction.
Oh, that Maxine is a card. That cartoon made chuckle and I knew I had to share it with the hopes it would make others smile. I will look forward to your upcoming post on the 22nd. It’s cool how bloggy friends inspire without even trying. 🙂
Have a lovely Sunday afternoon, my friend!
