Hello Kittens & Dawgs! Thanks for stopping by to see if your BoTB pick got named the winner. Last week, I presented The Winner Takes It All showdown between three unknown-to-me bands Black Sweden, At Vance, and Swedish Hitz Goes Metal. Sometimes I know who’ll get my vote while I’m putting the post together and other times I’m torn but either way I give each artist another listen before sharing the results. It really doesn’t matter who gets my vote (see below) because one band stole the majority votes and the showdown.
This is how the votes stacked…
Black Sweden – 6 (Lee, Eugenia, Birgit, John, Ellen, & Veronica)
At Vance – 3 (Stephen, Sandee, & Me)
Swedish Hitz – 4 ( Mary, Tom, Karla, & Pamela)
Today’s winner is Black Sweden!
So, who is Black Sweden? I’m not sure but one blogger wrote that they are a band of geniune Swedish heavy metal mewisicans. On another site, I found a list of the band members: Dr. A Force (vocals), Sir Richard Fireburn (guitar), Johnny Flash (bass), Steve Speed (drums) on their album, Gold, which pays tribute to ABBA that Great Vision International collaborates with their YouTube upload of this album. The heavy metal riff certainly throws my mind after years of exposure to the originals.

I didn’t know the name Tarja Turunen until I asked Google and learned she’s the ex-singer for Nightwish. You’ll be surprised to know that I spotlighted these Finns on my site last January. I guess it’s time to do a second feature on Nightwish but I will have to put that on hold until after the A2Z challenge. Thanks for visiting and please come back on the 15th to join my next BoTB!

Thanks for reporting the final score. I saw this one coming, a victory for The Black Sweden. Their ABBA covers are indeed an acquired taste… a taste that I have not yet acquired.
I say if you’re gonna do metal, do metal. I would have preferred a heavier, crushing sound with a few cookie monster death growls thrown in.
