The Power of Love through #music and #art with #RainsGarden #love prompt

Today’s theme is ‘Love’.  The above Procreate sketch is very similar to my 2018 A to Z Challenge illustration. That’s the beautiful thing with digital art, I can re-do any part of my design because of the layer features which allows me to rework a portion of my drawing without missing up the whole thing.

I used this design to make Valentine’s Day cards for our children and their significant others. For our little granddaughter, I revamped another Procreate design that originally I wanted to use as a tweet it image.

I wasn’t sure if I’d have time to create a new illustration but I did and this one I probably will use as my Valentine’s Day card for DH because after all hugs are the best kind of love!

I got on a creative strike and illustrated two more pieces. The first one is a Procreate drawing and the second is a pencil sketch.

Sharing the ‘Golden Years’ with you my love! We’re not quite there yet but this is how I imagine we’ll spend our future.
This is sweet, young love. Hopeful seeing the world and each other through rose colored glasses, which isn’t really all that bad. I think even as a seasoned couple as we are, we tend to do the same. We rather focus on what’s precious in each other instead of being critical. No one is purrfect. The old saying to know me is to love me is a great quote.

Thanks for stopping in with your coffee for a peek at my masterpiece and …oh yeah for not spilling it on my artwork. 😉

It’s a super pleasure to share my newest illustration with you this morning. 😘  Follow me to Rain’s Garden to browse through the gallery of artistry!

Try as I may, I can’t seem to get a consistent rhythm to play along with Eugenia in her weekly word prompts. However between this week and last words a poem formed using both. So without further ado, here’s my contribution with LOVE ALIVE

You might recognize this illustration. It happens this is a doodle creation from one of Rain’s prompts last year that I modified to go with my poem.

Tomorrow is DH’s off-Friday and it’s also a holiday weekend with Presidents’ Day coming up on Monday.  I’ll be back in full swing Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, if you’re in need of giggles, then I recommend you checking out Tickle Me Tuesday for your weekly dose of laughs and if you’re in Blogosphere then you may want to stop by for my mid-month Battle of the Bands showdown. Have a doodletastic day!

  1. I love the “Tweet Heart” card … so perfect for a Granddaughter or even anybody … you clearly have a big heart and share it well with your life partner. And the best thing you said is how we see the good in each other without focusing on, or being critical of our impurrfections. That is really important in making the love last through a lifetime. Happy Valentine Day to you Cathy and Happy Presidents Day as I am celebrating past presidents … not current 🙁

  2. Happy Valentine’s Day Cathy!! 🙂 Your art is so sweet and lovely today! I really love your “tweet-heart” piece!!! It reminds me so much of the cards we used to give as kids! Love is a wonderful feeling, you and I place just as much importance on it I think! 🙂 The Power of Love!!! I recently watched the Back To The Future movies, I think it was in that one, I LOVED Huey Lewis!!! Thanks so much for joining in!! xx Sending you lots of LOVE!!!

  3. Happy Valentines Day Cathy, what love you share with us today, through sketches and words, a hug is indeed the universal language of love. Fabulous how you created using procreate, it’s something my Daughter keeps on at me to work with but I find the love of pencil on paper draws me back time after time. Thank you for sharing the love today with all your splendid pieces. Creative wishes Tracey x

  6. I love all your sketches. You’re so talented.

Love the video. One of my favorite tunes back in the day.

Have a fabulous day, Cathy. Big hug. ♥

  7. Fantastic post full of love this week, well done Cathy. And beautiful words to round it off. The music is not really something for me, I’m more of a classic fan. But the power of love is something we all need. Have a LOVEly day, hugs, Valerie

  8. Hi, Cathy!

I appreciated your poetic words and artwork this morning, dear friend! The “I heart you” love hands illustration is colorful and conveys “The Power Of Love.” I’ll reflect upon that song in a moment. The “Happy V-day Tweet-Heart” birdie sketch is delightful and I;m sure your kids will enjoy this expression of motherly love on your part. The girl in the “hug is the universal language of love” looks exactly like you, Cathy. “Staying Together” shows the guy being attentive to his lady which is a good sign their relationship will last. The final couple sketch, “hand-in-hand forever,” is my favorite – perfect in its simplicity – and the human figures are very well drawn. I also like your poem. I know it will mean a lot to DH and warm his heart when you share it with him.

I am “anchored” to the Huey Lewis hit “The Power Of Love” for two reasons. In the Tony Robbins-style motivational seminar programs I took in the mid 80s, the song was used to pump-up participants and prepare them to walk barefoot on a 20-foot bed of fire. During the same period I used the song in a seven minute promotional piece I produced to introduce our new television station to potential advertisers. Huey Lewis is a few months younger than me. Sadly he has needed to cancel tour dates in recent years due to a medical condition that produces vertigo, ringing in the ears and hearing loss.

Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend Cathy!
