The Little Mermaid 2019 art sketch series UPDATE now 'in living color' Queen Athena #AtoZChallenge

I’m waiting for the 2020 A to Z Challenge sign up to announce, so I can get on the list and if for some reason the blog fest doesn’t go forward into their 11th year then I’m already working on all new illustrations again theme specific (hint… it has something to do with my blog) for this year which I will share in April regardless.

Last year, I sketched The Little Mermaid characters from the movie and TV series.  For the letter ‘Q’ I opted to draw Queen Athena.  I’m slow to get around to bringing all my pencil drawings ‘in living color’ using the Procreate iPad app which I love but here’s the Queen colorized!

Do you know what my A to Z Challenge art sketch theme is?  That wraps things up but hopefully if inspiration strikes then you might find me back here tomorrow with an art contribution with Thursday Art Date with Rain

Thanks for joining me today and may you have a blessed day!

  1. Your sketch of Queen Athena is great! She looks like a benevolent and really kind queen. 🙂

  2. I am going to send my youngest daughter her. She is so artsy and crafty. She has a brand new blog. I will post it at my blog shortly. I am linked in thank you. 🙂 Happy THursday!

    1. Linda,

Some day, I’d like to really paint but for now the Procreate app helps. It’s an easy way to learn how to shade and color realistically. I have a long way to go still.

  3. I’m sorry when I signed in I made a mistake so If you could delete that one that would be great. Now girl I swear you really need to do something with your drawings and I think you should draw for children’s books. Google it & see what you can find or what they offer. You do an awesome job for sure. Have a wonderful day! hugs….

    1. Marie,

Okay, girl took care of the goof entry! I’m sure where you’re not feeling your best is to blame, right? Thank you for your encouragement. I do alright copying other people’s work but until I can create illustrations from my imagination then I really don’t want to pursue this any further other than to have fun. My only regret is I wish I had the confidence when I was younger to take art more seriously. The good thing is I found my way back to doodling again. 🙂

  4. I just saw a message from the A to Z staff on Facebook yesterday so I think something is stirring. Looking forward to seeing your entries!

  5. Last year the signups were really late, like March late, if memory serves. So, I wouldn’t worry yet. I thought that was a pic of Ariel initially. Nice job.

    1. Liz,

Really, sign-up was in March? Hmm, for some reason I was thinking it happened earlier. Oh well…my memory is not what it used to be. Ariel looks like Athena and I thought the same time when I found the illustration last year. :)Thanks for visiting!

  6. I like your drawings, CK, she’s just purrfect😸Do you think I can put myself in…actually I mean, am I wild enough to put myself in? Let me know, I’ll be back for the linky…MOL😸Pawkisses for a Happy Wednesday🐾😽💞

  7. We all love Queen Athena. You know how much I love all your sketches too.

Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Love and hugs. ♥

    1. Sandee,

You’re so sweet. I’m happy you like my sketches. Drawing is just a little passion of mine and it’s great fun to share with others. 🙂
