The first Friday in March Friday Sillies edition & more fun stuff

How’s things in your neck of the woods? Weather-wise the temperatures have been mild. The wind…well, it’s been blowing. It’s March after all. Not tornado strength blowing but still more than I like. Yesterday, we went to the store to get a few items and the wind was a bother. It was coming out of the west but man was it chilly! All I kept thinking was how horrible it would be if it was coming in from the north.  The work week fixing to end in several hours and the weekend is upon us, so let’s get things started with the first edition of March Friday Sillies!

Ellen at 15andMeowing and Lorraine at Four-Legged Furballs share each Thursday four blank statements for us to copy and paste to create an entry for their Friday Friendly Fill-ins. Rounding things out this is how I filled in the blanks.

1. I won’t pay more than what’s necessary for anything we need with the exception in an emergencyI look for coupons, discounts, and other bargains on all big ticket items and when convenient I like to buy large package of non-food items. Every time I buy anything online I check to see if I can go through Rakuten and I always use my credit card to earn anywhere from 1% to 5% back.

2. The last blogger I visited was probably someone from the Thursday Art Date with Rain community but I’m not absolutely sure now.  The one thing I do know is I’m a bit behind visiting which I need to get on the ball to correct this morning. I got side-track working on my art for A to Z. *smack forehead* Sorry friends!

3. I recently had the opportunity to sign up for the annual A to Z Challenge. This is my 7th year. I’m making great progress with my art sketches and I’m looking forward to sharing them with y’all. 😉 Are you participating in the April blog fest?

4. Every day  is cause for celebration. Tomorrow is not promise to any of us, so if we wake to see a new morning then we should celebrate!

Skywatch Friday share: A look back to Summer 2018. Blue skies over Oliver Springs, TN north west of Knoxville. It was this old police car that made me stop to take this picture on this gorgeous afternoon.

That’s it for now. Please join me for Songsational Sundays if you’re around Blogosphere. Have a funtastic Friday, dear friends! X💋X💋, Cathy

  1. In the midst of all of the troubling world news, spending time today on your blog was such a blessing!
Thanks, Cathy, for your blogging friendship (for more years now than I can even count!)
I’m thrilled to share that you are our Friend of the Week at Friendship Friday at Create With Joy – CONGRATS! 🙂

  2. Your funnies are perfect. I love the one with the cat in the drapes. I’ve seen that more than a few times in my life. And thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I’m also participating in the A to Z challenge. I’m doing a series of doodles, and I have them all planned out, but I haven’t drawn any of them yet. I really need to get on top of that, like you are. I hope your week is going wonderfully!

  3. That gif… Wow. The dog was determined.

I am not doing A to Z this year. I decided to sit it out.

  4. Hi Cathy! That comic with the drapes reminds me of a time several years ago when I went to meet my brother and his family at their house after they had been on vacation a few days. Their drapes were all crooked. I think their cats had invited some others and had a cat party! I remember the ‘Dirty Laundry’ song. Have a great Caturday!

  5. Love the funnies!
Great fill ins, and I totally agree with #4!

  6. The weather here is bipolar. I wish it would be cold as it should and then hot, but nope. It’s today ice and tomorrow 100 degrees.

That dog is definitely king of the couch 🙂
I’d love to have a dog. I’ve been wanting one for many years.

    Happy Friday!

  7. These were great funnies- I am sure that is what a cat thinks. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, nice answers. I think I will do The A-Z, I wasn’t going to, but I want to. I look forward to your sketches. XO

  8. Bwahahahahahahahaha. I love them all but the dog pulling the pup off the couch so they could sleep with their peep was my favorite.

I linked this post to Feline Friday.

Have a fabulous day and weekend, Cathy. Love and hugs. ♥

  9. That husky video was too cute; I would have loved to have seen it for the next few seconds after husky started nuzzling the sleeping owner for attention. One of my husband’s cousins owns two huskies. When I saw your police car (second vintage car I’ve seen online today and I am vintage enough, lol, to have been around when that car was manufactured) I thought the car was from Mt Airy, NC. Sigh in some past years we would have been on our way down south, stopping at Mt. Airy on the way. This year, we are home, and snow is in the forecast today. As you know, I also signed up for A to Z and I need to get ready. You put in so much work into it, and I know I will enjoy your offerings.

  10. I love them memes, especially the hat full of money and the Husky. My first good laugh of the day.

  11. Hi, Cathy!

You caught me by surprise by running a Friday Sillies, dear friend. If I recall correctly, you skipped this feature a couple weeks in a row. I’m happy to see it in this week’s lineup.

March came in like a lion in western Tennessee, didn’t it? I have a good friend in York whose son lives less than five miles from where the deadly twister cut through. That’s too close for comfort!

I enjoyed your cartoons and memes and laughed out loud at the Husky pulling his dog buddy to the floor so that he could snuggle with their master and beg for attention. My Toto used to paw me on the arm constantly, her way or urging me to get busy petting and scratching. If I dared to stop for a moment, she would immediately start pawing me again.

Mrs. Shady and I have been doing lots of shopping in recent months to build our new nest. In practically every store, people are lined up at the register with their phones in hand ready to let the check-out clerk swipe the bar code on an electronic coupon. Nobody pays full price anymore… or do they? I suspect that stores raise prices, then offer the discount coupons to make it seem like you are getting a great deal. It’s a scam, but what can you do?

I admire the pic of that vintage black & white police car. It has been a long time since I heard “Dirty Laundry.” In the fall of 1982 when the single was released I was still working in TV news and those bloopers and outtakes taken from numerous local TV newsrooms bring back many memories. Wiki sez: “The song was inspired by the intrusive press coverage surrounding the deaths of John Belushi and Natalie Wood, and Henley’s own arrest in 1980 when he was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor and possession of marijuana, cocaine, and Quaaludes after paramedics treated a 16-year-old female prostitute who was subsequently suffering from drug intoxication at his Los Angeles home.”

Thanks for the giggles and have a safe and happy weekend, dear friend Cathy!
