Welcome to Monday’s Music Moves Me! It’s December again, boys and girls! This means all month long holiday tunes will spin on the ole virtual turntable with all things Christmas as our theme. I plan to keep things low-key in Blogosphere. I encourage you to do the same. Click play to enjoy the music shared today while you deck the halls or baking Christmas goodies or writing seasons greetings to friends. Tis the season to be jolly!

This is a music linky party. Your co-hostess are Stacy, Alana, and Me. Every other week we have a suggested music theme (see weekly prompts here) to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our music enthusiasts. Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.
I’m serious folks, take it easy this holiday season. Don’t worry about doing anything more than enjoying the music each week. Go ahead, join the linky party but don’t worry about leaving a comment. Try clicking “like” instead so that I’ll know you stopped by. I’ll be back on Wednesday with my new mini-series for December, Visiting Christmases Past from old blog posts strictly for your enjoyment. This is CAAC signing off, have a boogietastic week! X💋X💋, Cathy

Granny is swinging on the Andrew sisters, CK, it brings back some memories, when she was a child and watched tv, especially the movies of Bing Crosby😺Great Spark too and we love that picture. Double Pawkisses from us especially for you🐾😽💞
What could be better than to listen to the Andrew Sisters with Bing Crosby? Not much! You have a wonderful (and sane) Christmas season. Alana ramblinwitham
Alana,
I’m doing my best to keep things sane. It helps to set my eyes on a couple of tasks each day so to not get overwhelmed. This has worked well for the most part. However, it seems the whirlwind of activity since spring makes things feel more hurried despite my keeping a gentle pace. I will prevail, conquer, and keep my wits. Personally, I don’t want to spend the new year in the nut house. lol
Dear Cathy,
I like how you say, keep things low key this X’mas. I’m doing the same. And here’s why:

Natasha,
Thanks for stopping by to take in the sounds of the season, dear friend. I’m glad to know that you’re also scaling things back to enjoy life more. 🙂
Yes, my dear. <3
Thanks for sharing this wonderful collection and thanks for your comment on my Spiral Apple Bread, have a happy week….
Always great to hear the Andrews Siters, any time of the year but especially around this time!
John,
The Andrew Sisters voices are perfect together and works so well with classic Christmas songs.
I wish you a beautiful and blessed Christmas season with lots of love!
Thanks, Mimi! I hope for you the same, my friend. God bless!
I had completely forgotten about the Andew Sisters even though I’ve been to their Air Force Base.
Brian,
The Andrew Sisters had their own Air Force Base? Are you pulling my leg? 😀
Nice songs. I am surprised I never bought their Christmas cd. I have a lot of Christmas cds. XO
Ellen,
It’s not too late to buy their music! DH just got me one of their digital albums on iTunes. It’s really nice.
Such great songs here. Thanks for sharing them.
Thanks for joining the dance party, Patrick. I’m happy you could make it!
Oh…the pick up arrying the tree…reminds me of when I went with my dad to cut down a Christmas tree but we never had a pick up…lol.
I enjoyed listening to the Andrew Sisters, Bing and Danny Kaye at the end. Apparently, my aunt and uncle could really jive. He could throw her up in the air and twirl her around. They are from. The war Era when this was big.
Birgit,
I love vintage images like this I used of the old red truck in wintry scene. It’s just beautiful. I love watching DWTS! That would be neat to see your uncle and aunt do the jive. What a fun memory!
Cool red pickup and thanks for all the music!
Kathe,
So happy you like the awwws and ooos!
Awww that’s nice to hear the Christmas music. Thanks for posting so we can listen to something different than tv music all the time.
Come on over every Monday if you want to listen to tunes that move. Sometimes it’s physical and other times moves ya emotionally. Thanks for popping by!
What a great Awww. That reminds me of my childhood. Right down to the truck.
You can’t go wrong with the Andrew Sisters. They were amazing.
Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Love and hugs. ♥
I’m glad I took you back to your childhood. I remember listening to the old classics with them singing backup. Great sound!
I absolutely love the Andrew’s sisters!
They’re wonderful!
My parents were young adults of the Big Band era. The Andrew Sisters were a favorite of my mother. Thanks for a trip in the Way Back machine to a kinder gentler time.
The Andrew Sisters recorded with Bing Crosby and other artist popular from that era. It’s so funny, the day before this post published DH bought me an Andrew Sisters Christmas album on iTunes. That boy sure does know what appeals to this gal!
Hi, Cathy!
Happy 4M Monday, dear friend! I hope you and DH had a nice weekend.
Awww… I just wanna smooch that cute pinup girl, seeing as how she is holding mistletoe over her head. I wouldn’t want her to feel neglected and rejected. 🙂
I thoroughly enjoyed time traveling with you this morning and listening to vintage big band era sounds of Christmas songs sung by The Andrews Sisters along with Bing Crosby. Several of these seasonal ear candy treats are new to me, including “The Christmas Tree Angel,” “Poppa Santa Claus,” “Merry Christmas Polka,” “A Merry Christmas At Grand Mother’s” (featuring Danny Kaye as guest vocalist) and “Christmas Candles.” I remember posting a couple of years ago the song “Christmas Island” as sung by The Lennon Sisters.
The quote you posted by Ruth Carter Stapleton is a great one, words of wisdom we should all take to heart, not only during Christmas season, but all year round.
You will be happy to know that I have taken inspiration from you and have a Bond 007 theme of my own currently running at Shady’s Place. I hope you can swing by for a look and a listen. Have a wonderful week, dear friend Cathy!
Tom,
I’ve always liked the Big Band sound. I usually associated artists popular in the 40s and 50s That music carried over to my childhood in the 60s but the Big Band era is enduring and timeless. I’ll never get tired of it. Thanks for dropping by for some Christmas tunes. Thanks for the heads up on your newest post inspiration. Be well, my friend!
