I’m participating for the very first time in Mama Kat’s Pretty Much Famous Writer’s Workshop. This week’s theme prompt is Thanksgiving. One suggestion is to write a poem. I’m not a poet, but I do have reason to be thankful. I present to you, a not so original title.
I’m Thankful For
© 2011 Cathy Kennedy
I’m thankful for…
For my home
…with its imperfections
…cozy and quainters
…a castle or a mansion it is not
…and yet it’s home, sweet home
For my chores
…Endless mounds of laundry
…Piles of dirty dishes
…In-between snacks and
…Three meals a day
For my children
…watching their first steps
…teaching them lessons
…seeing them grow
..spreading their wings on they go
For my husband who
… walks beside me
…encourages my endeavors
…cherishes me like a treasure
…will be my best friend forever
For
…my husband’s job – a true God send
…our locale – which offers much
…this nation – privileges we share
…the military – our freedom protected
For Jesus
…His birth
…His life
…His sacrifice
…all to Him owe
What are you thankful for?
