Welcome back, Kittens & Dawgs! I want to get back into the writing groove. I mean really writing. You know creative writing. When I started my blog it was to promote my first and only children’s book. In the beginning I got involved with daily hops that challenged me somewhat to do just that but I lost my way. I’m trying to get back into the niche of painting pictures with words.
What hops do you enjoy participating in or reading that allows such creativity?
We’re more than half way through October. This week’s movie prompt sponsored by Wandering through the Shelves is the Halloween Edition: Technology, but before I reveal my picks for this week let me tell you about a movie we watched last weekend on AmazonPrime I wish I had included in last week’s ‘night/dark’ theme from 1987 Dead of Winter starring Mary Steenburgen, Roddy McDowall, Jan Rubes, & William Russ. The whole movie doesn’t take place at night but a good portion of it does and it’s an excellent thriller. 👍🏻👍🏻 Be sure to check it out!
Moving right along, I reviewed The Top 15 Tech Horror Movies list (broken link removed) to discover a few that we’d watched over the years like Altered State (1980 William Hurt) which I remember very little about but wouldn’t mind seeing it again, The Fly (1986 remake Jeff Goldblum) always left me feeling icky after seeing it, and The Stepford Wives (1975). Are we beginning to see the onset of a real life Stepford Wives unfold before our eyes as human sexbots infiltrate society? It makes you wonder, huh?
What technology horror flicks make you shiver?
Halloween This Or That Tag Questions:
1. Chocolate candy or fruity? If it’s candy I say “YES” to it all!
2. Witches of Vampires? Vampires definitely!
3. Trick or Treat? I’ll take the treats not the tricks, please.
4. Halloween Party or Scary Movie? I’m not a party or scary movie purrson, so I’m not sure which I’d go with but if I have to choose than may….be, a scary movie just as so it’s not too scary.
5. Skeletons or Zombies? Zombies for sure! Ever since we got hooked on TWD series I’m always wanting too find more Zombie type TV shows or movies.
6. Trick-or-Treat or Hand Out Candy? Neither. We don’t have small kids anymore but when ours were little we only went to a few homes in our neighborhood. Ever since ours got too big to Trick-or-Treat, we sorta got into the mood of discouraging kids to visit by keeping our porch light off. It’s really too dangerous to have kids on the street after night. Church or retail stores sponsored events is a much safer alternative.
7. Hay Ride or Corn Maze? Both sound really fun to do but I’d have to decline on both because of allergies. 🙁
8. Scary Costume or Funny Costume? Funny costumes.
9. Pumpkin Seeds or Pumpkin Pie? Pumpkin pie with whipped topping, lots and lots of whipped topping.
10. Bottle Feed A Baby Zombie or Walk Alone Through A Dark Forest? Baby Zombies can still infect you, so no thank you I’ll opt for the walk alone through a dark forest with a shot gun (silver bullets please – kills werewolves and zombies) and bayonet, while wearing a cross necklace.
11. Bats or Black Cats? Black cats.
12. Pumpkin Spice or hot Chocolate? Can I have both?
13. Celebrate in your neighborhood or at the mall? We don’t do either now that our kids are out of the house.
News flash… for the rest of the week I need to step away from cyber life. DH is using some of the comp time I mentioned in a previous post so that we can tend to a few things around the house but we hope to escape to the mountains for the day, as well. Meanwhile, enjoy my scheduled posts for the week and you’re invited to join me tomorrow for a cup of coffee and some giggles with Friday Fun Stuff!
