TAD A Spring Covered Bridge & FFO #8 Vintage-style Pinup Model

Out of synch this week and was not able to draw what I wanted for Rain’s prompt suggestion but I have an idea in mind and will bring to you soon.  Meanwhile, I do have art to share.

This my third seasonal change of this scene. In our area most of the flowering trees are almost leafed out. I had intended to share this before now but my brain has been tangled with too many things.  That’s part of why I am off prompt this time.

In keeping with on/off weeks, I’m including my FFO contribution.  I sketched a vintage style pin up girl based a real model posed. The first is my original (Procreate) and then I used it in photo editing app created by FB friend called Distressed FX that I got when it was offered for free.  It has a few built in filters which is fun for creating a new look. I used the filters Stirred and Blithe.

I struggled with the position of my models eyes and the angle of her head but I still like the way she turned out.  In time I’ll work these sorts of things out.  I named my pinup, April Showers. What did you expect?

Last week, I shared a picture of the homemade chocolate pudding I made for DH.  Here’s the recipe I used. The reason I didn’t put it up last time is because I wasn’t sure about the cocoa.  I was unsure if the cocoa needed adjusting but it turned out the suggested amount worked beautifully.

For DH’s eating ease, I made homemade tomato soup using this recipe.  I made a smaller portion and used canned diced tomatoes. My version needs a little tweaking but following the ingredients listed I definitely can say even with my imperfections it’s a good soup recipe. I’m going to make it again.

To go with the soup, I made home-made pimento cheese spread. This has been a favorite of ours for years.  It’s the best we’ve had!

This is not all I whipped up in the kitchen for DH’s special dinner menu.  I made The Pioneer Woman’s  homemade potato soup which was fantastic paired with scrambled egg and cheese sandwiches. Also, one of the desserts I made was Rain’s baked sour cream donuts. This is my second time.  Rain’s recipe is super easy.  I made a few minor adjustments to suit our taste but Rain’s original is great! I couldn’t find the recipe on her site. She probably hasn’t moved it over from her old site yet.  I included my version of her recipe.

I’m thankful for good health, mobility, vision, and hearing.  I’m able to get up, move around, and do what ever I want. It’s easy to take these things for granted until something starts to hurt or you become injured.  If you can move then get your groove on every day and be thankful! 😊

That’s all for today.  You’ll find me on the dance floor next time with Monday’s Music Moves Me. Come join the party!
