Christmas in Dixie

Somewhere in western North Carolina, I snapped this picture in December 2017 at a Christmas tree farm & produce stand.

DH and I are on vacation. While it would be fun to escape somewhere outside our region, we still find it just as enjoyable to knock discovering new places within our locale which still amazes me after living here for 40 years.

This month, I’m sharing at least a song a day to put everyone in a joyful mood this Christmas season.  T’is the season to be merry, press play to enjoy, Christmas in Dixie!

Over the years I’ve made homemade items to incorporate into our Christmas decorating.  Two of my favorites being the vintage style personal Christmas stockings (see post for photo) I made for each of us using the 8771 Simplicity pattern and the salt-dough ornaments I made when our children were small, pictured below (click on image to enlarge).

Here’s the recipe I  used to make my ornaments  We used various cookie cutters but this is the only good photo that I could easily find in my archives. Maybe in a few years, I can do this with my granddaughter. 🙂

Normally I put up my Linky party for y’all to join but I think I’m gonna skip it today and maybe the rest of the month.  I will suggest if you want folks to check out your mid-week post for you to please include your web address in comments.  That makes it easy for others to follow a direct path to your blog.
