Holiday Road and Other Vacation/Travel Songs

Thanks for joining me on the dance floor today! The first tune to pop in my head for this week’s theme “Vacation Songs” was Lindsey Buckingham Holiday Road. We don’t take an annual vacation. The last time we took one was in 2004. I’m super excited about our upcoming vacation this fall. How do will we cram everything we want to do in 2-weeks? I don’t know but we’ll get to a lot of the points of interest that we’re jotting down.

An Aww Mondays moment is a scan of an old photo captured in 1989 with my old Nikon 35mm SLR camera from our first Maine vacation at Pemaquid Point Lighthouse of DD#1 and DH

To get everyone in the mood for their road trip and adventures ahead, I consulted the Internet using key words vacation or travel to pull together my 10-song playlist. Roll the window down and hit play to unwind with the breeze in your hair!

As in vacations past it’ll be another I DROVE ALL NIGHT with minimal stops to reach our first SWEET VACATION destination. I can only imagine the ESCAPADEs we’ll find ourselves in while on HOLIDAY. There’s sure to be plenty of DAY TRIPPERS and hopefully plenty of SUNSHINE AND SUMMERTIME left for our VACATION days. The TRAVELLING is the worst part but it’s worth it to keep the SHOULDER TO THE WHEEL RUNNIN’ DOWN A DREAM to return to Maine.

The theme this week is “Vacation Songs”.

This is a music linky party.  Your co-hostess are Stacy, Alana, and Me.   Every other week we have a suggested music theme (see weekly prompts here) to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our music enthusiasts.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

I spoke with Marie. She had been in the hospital due to inner ear problems vertigo or something similar that had her blood pressure dangerous high.  She’s home taking it easy.  She really wants to return in August after she gets this problem under control and after she gets her back shot.  Keep those prayers going!  It’s time to wind things down.  Special thanks to Robin from Songbird’s Crazy World for being this month’s honorary co-hostess.  It’s always a joy to have you fill in and you’re welcome to do it anytime, my friend! Before I jump off here, I’d like to send birthday wishes to DH!  He’s a swell fella.  In honor of my special guy, I built a playlist of songs released the year he was born. This is Dedicated to the One I Love! Happy Birthday, Sweetie! This is CAAC signing off,  have a boogietastic week!
