I didn’t know if I could pull off getting artwork done for yesterday or today but I successfully met the challenge. While DH was at the dentist on Wednesday, I sat in the car armed with both my iPad and sketch pads. During his 4½ hour appointment, I worked on one iPad art project and finished two pencil drawings. This is the first time since 2021 for me to do things old school and it felt good!
DH commented that he sees a big improvement over a year ago which is a great compliment. This man has an eye for detail. He’s a huge help to showing me how to draw better when my brain and hand aren’t lining up properly.
I hesitated a bit to show the drawing of the little child. I actually was attempting to draw an infant but wound up with a toddler. I see a number of things wrong like the head is too round and her hair flips too much behind her ears making her look a little like a pixie but I consider this part of my growth in my doodling journey.
The next face illustration is better in my opinion. Is it perfect? Nope! I have plenty of room to improve.
It’s interesting that when I showed this drawing to DH, he said, “She looks a little like you.” I actually saw the same thing as I took the photo but I wasn’t aiming for a self portrait. Perhaps, my subconscious was at work. My sketch reminds me of my 13 year old self.
There you have it. I’m not a da Vinci yet but I’m getting there. Stop laughing, I am, seriously! Alright, I’m seriously trying. 😆
