A Gorgeous Autumn Day on the Blue Ridge Park #WW

Welcome Kittens & Dawgs!  It’s official autumn but we won’t see much in the way of fall colors until next month.  The last time I got some good autumn photographs was in 2016 while on the Blue Ridge Parkway.

THIS IS NOT FROM THIS YEAR.
We were just south of Boone, North Carolina on this mid-October day.  Just beyond the curves ahead, you can see the suspension bridge at Grandfather’s Mountain.

[tweetthis]I linked up with Curious as a Cathy for some not-so #WW fun & I invite you join the party! #photography[/tweetthis]

Last week I connected with the ABC Wednesdays community.  Today’s alphabet prompt is the letter L. Going through my photo archives,  I decided to share one of my first images captured with my big girl camera from 2012. At that time, I wasn’t nearly involved with the photo hops that I am today.  I believe I shared some of the pictures in this series a couple of years later, here, but I don’t believe this exact one.

Fort Loudon Lake in Farragut, TN just outside of Knoxville’s west side.

I’m working on improving my blog content. I explored some other mid-week hops last week. I took a peek at Scribble Picnic which is an art prompt meme.  My good friend, Claudia Wilson, introduced this to me a few years ago.   I enjoyed viewing the artwork shared by the group of artists.  Today, I am adding last week’s ‘Exploration’ prompt with my illustration.

Drawn in Procreate on my Apple iPad. Better late than never this is my ‘EXPLORATION’ inspired sketch. 🙂

Two years ago, I discovered the artist within. Please, don’t steal this one small joy.  Anywho, if you’re a regular then you’ll recognize this sketch of the mother chicken with her babies from the April 2017 A to Z Challenge. Coincidentally I used the same image in Six Sentence Stories last year, too. I decided to think outside the box of crayons for the Scribble Picnic ‘Chicken’ art challenge.

While my drawing (another Procreate illustration) isn’t scary, my childhood thoughts of a swinging footbridge (I wished I found this link before now) spanning a nearby river was a scary thought and I was totally chicken to cross it.  Thankfully, I never had to do it and I don’t think you could get me to do it even on a dare.

That’s it for this time.  Have a fototastic day and I invite you to join me for a cup of coffee in the morning while you check out my Thursday mashup — T2Q, TMP, & Writer’s Workshop post.
