I haven’t participated in Thursday Art Date much this year and I’ve been even worse with keeping up with community members. It doesn’t mean that I haven’t thought of my friends there because I have many times. Some of you are a whole lot better than me with your stops at my place. I am truly appreciate. Your friendships mean so much to me. Here are a few art sketch contributions based on Rain’s prompts this month, Snowed In and Christmas Lights.
I’m thankful for music and the memories associated with songs. DH got me Riders in the Sky Christmas album on iTunes this year when I heard the lyrics to Christmas Time’s A Comin’, a song I hadn’t heard in years, Daddy instantly came to mind. I remember as a kid how he’d act silly while singing it.
Snowflakes falling my old home is calling
Tall pines are humming Christmas time is coming.
Can’t you hear them bells ringin’ ringin’ joy to all here them singin’
Let it snow and I’ll be going back to my country home
Christmas times a’ coming Christmas times a’ coming
Christmas times a’ coming and I know I’m going home.
Holly’s in the window home where the wind blows
Can’t walk for running Christmas time is coming.
Home fires burning my heart’s yearning
For the folks at home when Christmas time is coming.
I’ll be back tomorrow to report the outcome in my “What Child Is This” BOTB and although I won’t be in Blogosphere Monday, I do have music to share. May your heart be light and your days be merry, my friends. This is CAAC signing off, have a doodletastic day! X💋, Cathy
