Cathy’s Pinup Girl #AtoZChallenge art sketch series (‘L’)

A Salute to my bloggers hosting these daily fun connection Happy Tuesdays – Sandee @ Comedy Plus and Random Tuesday Thoughts with Stacy Uncorked

How’s things going with this morning? All is well on this end, a little tired but hopefully a cup of coffee or two will fix me up in no time.

Today’s A to Z Challenge illustration is inspired by this photograph of Vera Ellen. You might recognize Vera from the first movie I ever saw her in, White Christmas playing Rosemary Clooney’s sister.

Original pencil drawing of my Liberty pin-up girl. Nope, not even close to the actual photograph. Hopefully, you find it as a lovely work of art and not a laughable one.
Getting a do-over using Procreate helps me to fine tune design flaws I find my pencil sketches. Although my Liberty girl’s dress isn’t like Vera’s I much prefer the change in this illustration over my first attempt.

My pinup girl doesn’t resemble Vera in the least but hopefully the spirit of my endeavor is appreciated. While I was snooping around on the net, I found Seven Things to Know about Vera-Ellen, if you’re interested in reading.

[tweetthis]I just visited Cathy’s Pinup Girl #AtoZChallenge #art sketch series, and I think you should, too! #libertygirl[/tweetthis]
This is a normal reaction of a cat. Can you imagine if it knew about such things as the Coronavirus?

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you enjoyed my ‘liberty pinup girl’ and laughs. You’ll find a list of of my previous A2Z posts in my side menu and remember to leave your footprints (direct URL) in comments so I can find my way back to you easily. Join me tomorrow for another illustration in Cathy’s Pinup Girls Art Sketch Series. Now, I will leave you with a new-to-me discovery Liberty X with “Holding On For You”.

X💋X💋, Cathy
