SWF: Bass Lake #BRinfo

Good-day, kittens and dawgs! The weekend is here and it’s a long one at that. Whoo-hoo! Let’s bridle our enthusiasm briefly…okay, that’s enough bridling! Really now, let’s get serious. Stop laughing! Okay, few weeks ago, I shared Clear Skies over Moses Cone Manor with you and today I’m taking you back for a peek at a beautifully tranquil lake situated not far from that Blue Ridge Mountains’ estate called Bass Lake.

The Blue Ridge Parkway crosses Blowing Rock, North Carolina only minutes from Moses Cone Manor. There are two ways to reach the lake. One is from mansion’s ground along one of hiking trails. The path was too over grown to suit us, so after talking to a park ranger we learned the lake is accessible by car.  For your convenience and reference I captured a Google Map screen shot of the area.

Bass Lake Route
Just so you’ll have an idea from Moses Cone Manor to Bass Lake the drive time is less than 10-minutes.

Bass Lake is lovely, peaceful place. A walking trail circles the lake and although we didn’t take it I’m looking forward to doing so next time, as well as another chance to get more picture.

How are things shaping in your sky? What sorts of things captivated your shutterbug side?

I’m sharing my photo-art with the SWF team.  Now, I’m joining Lexa in Celebrate the small things.

I’m celebrating…

  • all the fun DH and I had last week watching Three Billboards Production film a movie scene with Frances McDormand. You can check out my photo shot, here.
  • the many awesome brave and proud U.S. servicemen/women (living & deceased) for the sacrifice they made to keep America safe. Thank you and God bless!
  • after being reminded last week by Stephanie Faris of the gift of my eyesight to see our beautiful world. I can’t image living in a dark world or even a silent one like a deaf person.
  • DWTS contestant, Nyle DiMarco, a model/actor born deaf, won with his professional dance partner, Peta Murgatroyd (see video of one of their last dance performances).

What are you celebrating?

Let’s begin celebrating with Friendship Friday and Friday Features linky parties where you’re sure to make new friends and get lots of inspiration!

That’s a wrap for now, but if you like music then I invite you to come back Monday for Mewsic Moves Me. Until next time, have a fototastic weekend!
