Pave Maijanen

Good morning, kittens & dawgs!  I am considering placing this segment on hold in February. It’s getting to be a bit too much to juggle the Saturday post. I thinking about moving my Saturday mewsic to a weekday under a new meme name.  Anywho, this is the last Saturday of January and with it, I will end my Finish mewsic bands with Pave Maijanen!

At the age of 6, Pave shown an in mewsic when learned how to play the harmonica.  He began his career in the 60s and played with several bands with his most popular known is Mielikummitus, the background band of singer Kristian.

Pave’s first solo single in 1975 was is guitar jazz  Fever cover song launching a new band for him that he called, “Pave’s Mistakes” which recorded two albums.  The second, Pidä huolta, Pave composed and interrupted his first Finish recording. The title song on the album became one of his best hits in 1981.

The 80s were Pave’s best years. Things went south when the decade flipped. However, by the end of the 90s, Pave was in the limelight again with “Mestarit Areenalia”, other than him, the mewsic group comprised Kirka, Hector, and Pepe Willberg. They sold out the Finnish ice hockey halls and Pavel also pulled together a concert by him at the Helsinki Olympic Stadium making him the first Finnish artist to ever do so.

What did you think of this artist?  I hope you’ll tweet the mews to your friends, inviting them to check out his mewsic.
