A cool way to beat the summer time heat to heating things up

While Tennessee enjoyed a tax-free weekend, we stayed far clear of malls, superstores (Wal-Mart & Target), Best Buy, Office Depot, and all other related stores.  I like to think that we were a bit smarter by choosing to do our tax-free shopping online.  In my opinion, there’s less hassle and more convenience in going this route.

In addition to saving nearly 10% off my purchases because of the tax-free holiday, another fun perk to internet shopping is I also earned about $20 cash back by going through my Ebates (where you can earn super savings, too) portal at my favorite online retailers.  That’s a cool way to beat the summertime heat!

The only place we felt safe to go to Saturday was Home Depot where we ventured to pick up a few items for DH. One of the coolest things to me that we bought was this Malibu Solar-powered landscape light…

We only bought one to see how we like it and WOW, is it ever a powerful spotlight! I reckon we’ll buy more but we’ll definitely get them at Amazon since it’s little less expensive and there’s no sales tax.

Another neat thing we got at Home Depot is a replacement 60-watt equivalent LED lightbulb(10.5W) to use in the socket of the stove’s hood. This light is left on all night/day and the regular incandescent bulbs blow quickly. The new LED bulb is whiter & brighter than what we’re used to but I like it a lot. I can’t wait for the LED bulb prices to reduce drastically because I would so love replacing all of our overhead lightbulbs with these…

After we got done at Home Depot, DH took me out to dinner. This is the first time all this year that we have been able to do this. I got all dressed up and was finally able to wear that adorable little slinky pink number DH bought me last fall. The problem is, I forgot to have him take a picture of me wearing it. Tell me, how can I brag about how fabulous I looked, IF I can’t show you myself? Oh pooh! Maybe, next time I’ll remember.

Anywho, we went to P.F. Chang’s. The low-lit ambiance really set the sex-appeal mood. We slid into one of the booth seats, sitting side-by-side like the newlyweds (yes, even after 34-years we feel very much like this) that we are.  With DH’s arm around my shoulder, we shared a single menu.

We began our meal with an order of spring rolls and Chinese tea. One of my favorite things about eating at P.F. Chang’s is their Dragon Oolong tea – fantastic!  Our entrée choices, Sesame Chicken for myself and Kung Pow Chicken for DH.  Both of these are excellent menu selections and have never disappointed us. This time was no exception.

Dining out isn’t complete unless you have dessert. We both indulged ourselves. Ladies, you can’t have a sex-filled night without an aphrodisiac, so I had (not all of it mind you) The Great Wall of Chocolate. Oh. My. Cathy! I forgot how huge this 6-layer dessert is. It’s incredible big!  DH got his favorite classic pick, a slice of New York-Style cheesecake. Oh, yummy, everything was D-E-L-I-C-I-O-U-S! The added bonus is we had plenty of left-overs to take home to enjoy another night.

As we left P.F. Chang’s, we strolled hand-in-hand thinking about our sexilious evening and that’s all I’m gonna say about that.  The rest I’ll leave to your imagination. Keep it classy, though. lol

That’s a wrap on this week’s randomness. Grab a cup of coffee and join me as I visit my lovelies at….
