Wednesday Hodgepodge

Join me in a little mid-week fun with Joyce in Wednesday Hodgepodge! Every week, Joyce posts 8 questions for you to grab, answer, and share on your site. Today she’s asking these questions.

1.  ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?  The NFL is back in action along with all the college teams.  Are you a fan?  Who do you root for?  If you’re not a fan what do you do while the rest of America watches Saturday, Sunday, Monday night, and now Thursday night games?

Yes, we’re NFL and Tennessee Vol fans (UT). We have a couple of professional football teams we enjoy watching and rooting for. It mainly depends on who’s playing who. We are huge fans of the Manning brothers, especially Peyton. In case you didn’t know he played at UT. After college, the Colts drafted him.  However, after being out all last season Indianapolis finally let Peyton go. This football season, he’s the star quarterback for Denver.  The Colts loss is now the Broncos gain!

2. What’s something I’ll always find in your closet?

Do you really want to know, Joyce? I’ll tell you what you’ll find – a disorganized mess! You have to keep in mind, our house is small quaint and everything gets stuffed away…in the closet.

3. Share one of your earliest memories.

I’m assuming from childhood, right? That being the case, then I wrote about my earliest memory here just last month.

4. What circus act best describes your week so far?

Clowns falling down. Do you know that feeling? Well, that’s me not only this week, but most weeks

5. What’s a food you disliked as a child but you love now?

Wow, how can this be? Another question prompted from a post done last month. You can check it out here. Scroll down to the Mama Kat’s part of the post.

6.  Describe your summer in three words.

Short, fast, gone!

7.  Where were you on September 11, 2001? Will you do anything special to mark the day this year?

The first September after the year I began blogging, I wrote a post on 9/11/10 called Reflecting on 9/11. This year, I did the same, except I wrote a special poem called, Rise Up Never To Stay Down. I’m not a poet, but the words flowed effortlessly and I credit my inspiration from the One on high for inscribing these thoughts in my mind.

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

This morning while making my usual mid-week rounds I learned Patrice at Chats on a Farmhouse Porch has temporary postponed things due to D3 getting thrown from a horse. The good news D3 is okay, but suffers from a mild concussion. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Patrice. It sounds like hard heads run in the family given the horseback riding incidents you guys have faced over the years.
