I’m joining Rain’s Kitchen & Garden and the art community for Thursday Art Date. My post title reveals last week and today’s theme. I created a slide gallery for each Procreate sketch because I used the Brushstrokes app on the originals to create painting-like images.
For the grayscale theme, I went with feather. This is a something I wanted to draw for awhile. After looking at examples, I loved the idea of drawing a quill pen and ink well for the theme.
A couple of weeks ago, I really wanted to illustrate tulips for the warm color art prompt but didn’t have time. However, I thought why not do that now. After all isn’t it nice to see pretty colors together that are complimenting?
I might have not followed Rain’s idea exactly but then I usually march to the beat of my own drum. 😊
Earlier in the month, I got the chance to make yet another recipe Rain shared with us, her Baked Jelly-filled Donuts. I made a few changes. I used Avocado oil in place of butter and instead of using brown sugar, I used white. My first try wasn’t too shabby.
Rain’s recipe is easy. For our taste, the donuts weren’t quite sweet enough, so I’ll adjust it next time but see how pretty they look and honestly, this a good recipe. Â
I’m thankful for the happy news that our son and his wife is expecting a little boy mid-September. How exciting, after his arrival we can say we have a granddaughter and grandson!
I’m thankful that DD#1 got a new job with a better position and pay.
I’m thankful to have some pesky annual appointments that I reluctantly have every other year (or longer if I can get away with it) out of the way. A big hooray, everything looked good on all my test results from my physical and nothing turned up with my GYN exam. I’m hopeful the lab results will be good, too. I see the dentist this afternoon. This I’m not too sure about. One of my top molars chipped off along the backside between two teeth. The chipped tooth has a big filling, so please say prayers everything goes well! Â
One more thankful to mention is, we got our taxes done and we don’t owe Uncle Sam anything. Awesome!

You’ll find me next time boogieing on the dance floor with Monday’s Music Moves Me and you’re invited to join the party. This is CAAC signing off, have a doodletastic day!
