I’m on day 6th of the A to Z Challenge with the letter “F”. As you’ve noticed in 2017 I didn’t have a particular theme when it came to doing my sketches, I just wanted to put pencil to paper to see what I could draw and that excited me.
Fences, especially picket fences I love to see adoring a person’s property and have visions of having my own someday. Perhaps on the main side with a walk-way leading up to the front door and then in the back one of those tall privacy fences to keep noisy neighbors prying eyes off limits. When I did my original fence I was a bit conflicted because I thought of other subjects to sketch for the alpha-prompt and in the end I worked a couple of them into my scene, a little frog in the right lower corner and sitting behind the fence a fox. Finally, here’s the Procreate recreation.
The do-over gave me the chance to correct uneven fence slats in my earlier work. I don’t know why I drew it that way to start with but I did. I also gave the big tree full foliage. These are the biggest design changes but adding color and using the various digital brushes gave my illustration texture. However, that’s not all I did, I added pixel to my drawing using Pixelmator Pro to soften and smooth the scene.
In keeping things short this year, I’ll leave you with a song. Who knew I’d make new artist discovery with a one titled, “Picket Fences” with Hawthorne Heights. Ignore the video image and hit play which may surprise you. It did me. 😉
Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your day. I’m heading over to the A2Z headquarters to leave my calling card and maybe I’ll take notice to see who else came to the party. This is CAAC signing off, I’ll be back tomorrow with the next letter in the alphabet!
