The Best of Yazoo & Top 40 hits from 1957

Awww Mondays hosted by Sandee from Comedy Plus.

Hello, I’m so happy to see you today!  What brings you by?  If you’re a fellow A2Zer, then you’ll find my alpha post for the letter D, right here, but you don’t have to hustle off just yet, stay for a bit before you click away. 😉

How was your Easter weekend?  Ours was nice.  We got to see our son.  He needed to replace his brake line on the passenger side of his vehicle, so we met up with him.  We were there mostly to offer whatever help we could, but mostly it was a good opportunity to spend time with him.  I did get the honorary job of helping him to bleed his brakes.  He said with the his truck on a jack with me being the smallest one in the group that I got that task. lol  I remember doing this for DH many times years ago when we were first married.  Before I forget, I wanted to show you how the solid chocolate bunny turned out for our LA.

I purchased a candy mold from Etsy.  I melted Ghirardelli milk chocolate melting wafers per the instructions and filled both cavities then placed the candy mold in the freezer to harden the chocolate.  Once ready, I popped both pieces out of the mold, lined up, and bonded the two pieces along  the seams with some of the left over melted milk chocolate.  I used my finger to smooth the edge.  The softened chocolate will set up almost immediately so I had to work fast.  It wasn’t perfect but it didn’t turn out too bad for my first try.  I returned the solid chocolate bunny to the freezer.  I got the wild hare, pun intended, to make the big kids cherry nut cream filled chocolate Easter eggs.  I melted less than half a cup of Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers then added color to write Happy Easter on each egg. Blue for the boys and pink for the girls.

As you can see in the first photo, I got to thinking about LA’s chocolate bunny’s eyes so I used the melted white chocolate giving the bunny personality.  The pink ribbon was a nice finishing touch, too. 🙂  Now for the recipe as promised!

The flavor was good but the recipe needs some refinement.  Feel free to make changes to mine and let me know your outcome.

Last week was a push.  I didn’t get things done that I wanted so yesterday I did a catch up post containing my normal daily blogging content.  If you’re interested and have the time feel free to catch up with me.  😉

I just can’t believe it’s April.  Back in February while making my 4M rounds, Marie from Athena Cat Goddess was rounding out her alphabetic musicians with a Yazoo, “Only You”.  A song that sounded familiar but yet I don’t recall it.  This week’s Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me theme is your choice song picks and I thought it would be interesting to share with you a The Best of Yazoo YouTube playlist.

I couldn’t figure out why this 80s band didn’t ring with me but after reading Wikipedia it became clear to me that their presence mainly stayed in the UK. A few of their songs released in North America to sit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and made Billboard 200 album chart in 1982. “Only You” peaked at # 67 and perhaps that’s why it sort of registers somewhere in my brain. The band broke up in 1983 but in 2008 did a reunion tour and then again reconnected in 2011 on stage.

This is a mewsic linky party. Every other week we have a suggested mewsic theme (see side menu) to build your song set around and all participants share YouTube or Vimeo videos for our mewsic enthusiasts.  Failure to meet this basic guideline puts your URL in danger of being removed or labeled – NO MUSIC.

Yesterday my mother celebrated her 76st birthday, so I’m signing off with a special playlist of Top  40 hits* from 1957.  The year my mother turned 13…oops, correction 12.  Math was never my favorite subject.   Happy Birthday, Mom!  I’ll be back again tomorrow joining in with the A2Z community.  Stop in for a peek at my latest Looney Tunes illustration.  Have a boogietastic week, folks.  X💋X💋, Cathy
