I can’t spell DNCE with out U. 🙂 I’d like to take credit for that funny but DH came up with that after hearing a different funny spin-off of DNCE’s Cake by the Ocean. I stumbled upon these cute little furry friends singing this dance worthy tune and decided to turn today’s Friday Fun Stuff into a dance party featuring Alvin and the Chipmunks.
Recently I watched the 2007 Alvin and the Chipmunk movie. Jason Lee does a fabulous job as Dave Seville. Overall I enjoyed this adorably cute and predictable flick capturing my inner child. 🙂
Things are progressing about normal with DH’s retina attachment surgery but his vision issues remain. This may not resolve itself until after he finishes the process which includes two other procedures and getting new glasses. We aren’t venturing off for long day trips but keep closer to home. It’s funny how we still find a lot to do and places we haven’t seen or been to in a long time. It’s interesting how we can drive 15-20 minutes out of the city and it’s almost like rural east Tennessee. This is a view of House Mountain not too far from where we live.

Today, I Celebrate The Small Things, such as DD#1. This week, she turned 29. She was once so tiny weighing less than 6 pounds. I baked her a Triple Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Bean Buttercream Frosting (See recipe below).
Next year, she enters a new decade. My beautiful baby girl is now a beautiful woman…a single, beautiful woman! 😉 lol
In honor of DD#1 who loved watching Alvin and the Chipmunks, especially features of the Chipettes because well…she shares the name of Alvin’s girlfriend. Let’s hear for The Chipettes!
What are you celebrating?
Thanks for hosting the fun, Annie and Ellen!
(1) My next scheduled post will be Monday Mewsic Moves Me and you’re invited to hit the dance floor with “Independence Day or Celebrating the Holiday” tunes with a blogversary giveaway kicking off.
(2) Fireworks originated in China some 2,000 years ago in an accidentally discovery when a Chinese cook working in a field kitchen mixed charcoal, sulfur, and saltpeter (items commonly found in kitchens in those days). The mixture burned and when compressed in an enclosure (a bamboo tube), it exploded. Can you imagine the kaboom? (source credit)
(3) This week, I am thankful to live in the good ole USA. There’s no better land than only in America!
.
(4) Freedom earned by our forefathers and maintained by today by all who SERVE this country and the LOVE from the ordinary American fighting to protect the liberties of this great land through voice and action.
.
I appreciate you joining me. I’m taking it easy this summer with posts loosely done on a whim. Hopefully, you get notifications delivered to your email whenever I add a new post but if not, then you may want to join now to not miss out!
That’s a wrap for now, I’ll see ya on the dance floor for independence Day or Celebrating the holiday tunes and a Mondays Mewsic Moves Me anniversary giveaway!
Until next time, have a laughtastic weekend!
