Illusions, Funny Story, Old Movies, College Football, & Resolutions

The brain is a complex and wonderful thing. I like illustrations which trick the mind where you see more than one thing at a glance.  At first, I see an elderly man and woman. A second look, a notice two Mexicans – man and woman. There is a candle stick or wine goblet on a table I’m not sure which. Also, there’s a woman standing in a door way.

What do you see in this picture?

How many faces can you count in the below photo? I found 11.

Using your mind creatively can help when you’re in a tight jam. For instance…

An old man lived in Idaho. He wanted to spade his potato garden, but it was very hard work. His only son, who used to help him was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament.
Dear Luther, I’m feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my potato garden this year. I am just getting too old to be digging up the garden plot. If you were here, all my troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me. Love,  Dad
A few days later, he received a letter from his son.

Dear Pops,  For heaven’s sake, don’t dig up the garden. That’s where I buried the BODIES! Love, Luther

Early the next morning, F.B.I. agents and local police showed up at the old man’s home. They dug up the entire garden without finding a single body. The authorities apologized to the old man and left. The same day the old man received another letter from his son.

Dear Pops, Go ahead and plant the potatoes now. That’s the best I could do under the circumstances. Love, Luther

Lately, we’ve been in an old movie watching mood.  You’ll be happy to learn that by-gone era of Hollywood movies continue to shine for generations with these preserved classics from big screen to your plasma TV. Be sure to look for these for a fun, family night of entertainment!

My Favorite Spy (1951) starring Bob Hope and Hedy Lemar

How to Marry a Millionaire (1953) Lauren Bacall, Marilyn Monroe, and Betty Grable

Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (1953) Marilyn Monroe and Jane Russell

Last night, Alabama and LSU went head to head in the College National Championship. We rooted for the Crimson Tide. Alabama scored all field goals, then in the last two minutes of the game, they got a touchdown.
The final score 21 to 0. Whoo-hoo, what an awesome game!

My resolutions for the New Year are taking shape slowly. I’m working daily on better communications efforts with friends/family. Another area is, I’m jotting my to-dos down immediately. This will keep things from slipping out of my head. Procrastination and I have a long history. I’m ready to kick this partner out of my life for good!

What sort of random is rattling your thoughts today?

Thanks Stacy for keeping the randomness alive while Keely @ UnMom takes a break!
