Thanks for stopping in with your morning coffee for a peek at my latest illustration. This week Rain challenged us to sketch a facial feature. In September she gave a similar prompt. You might recall I attempted to draw realistic eyes and ears. I didn’t master it but I had fun. I think I’ll try illustrate realistic lips using these step-by-step instructions.
I am going to share two drawings. First I will show you my black and white illustration, followed by the same drawing except in color.
While my realistic lips aren’t 100%, I am pleased with how both sketches turned out. I find I do better when I try to not do exactly as another artist does but to use what I learn as guidelines. That takes away the pressure of trying to get mine to match precisely.
This week’s Thankful Thursday I’m thankful DS is making good progress in repairing his car after sliding into a ditch on Christmas eve. He’s very handy working with his hands which is another reason to be thankful. I’m thankful for the extra long holiday weekend to spend with DH. I’m even thankful for the return of being back to my old schedule again. I continue to be thankful for our good health. We’re holding out very well totally Covid-free and that’s precisely how I plan to keep us.
Last month I felt too pressed to do everything in Blogosphere and I fell out of step with Kat’s writing prompts which I barely began again after years of being away from her workshop. Writing was my first creative passion. Hopefully in this new year I can waken that side of me before it becomes lost altogether. This week I’m using Kat’s prompt What were you blogging about a year ago? What has changed since then?
January 7, 2020 fell on a Tuesday. That’s my time slot for Tickle Me Tuesdays and on this date, I shared with everyone about the amazing SlingTV stand along service. We’re still enjoy using the streaming option when possible. They do have on-demand content but what I like is we can record a program to watch later when it’s convenient. Over the holiday weekend, we finally got to watch Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom on FX New Year’s Eve. Friday night, we recorded Equalizer 2 and watched it Saturday. All December we enjoyed streaming the Food Network: Christmas Cookie Challenge episodes on SlingTV, too. That’s been such fun. The featured bakers’ talent is crazy amazing! In Blogosphere I would say very little has changed in the past year but I’m feeling like change is needed to get everything I want to done in a day’s time. I hope 2021 is the year I see many of my dreams bloom and my desire for you is that you’ll see yours come true, too.
That winds things up for today. You’re welcome to follow me over to Rain’s Garden to browse through the gallery of artistry on display. I’ll be back tomorrow to announce the winner in last week’s BoTB in my edition of Friday Fun Stuff. Come join the fun! X💋X💋, Cathy
