I interrupt the regular Monday Music (sorta) post to bring you this special announcement…. I preëmpt all routine posts to bring you my contributions to this month’s largest blogging event. Don’t worry, normal posting will resume next month like clock work (I hope). Meanwhile, I invite you to stick around to enjoy the #AprilA2Z fun!
I remember when our girls were really small. I think they were 2 and 4. Our church gave all the children kites in Sunday School. We made it a standard date after Sunday morning services to go to the mountains ~ change of clothes and picnic lunch in toll.
We found a large open field on the North Carolina side of the Smoky’s near the Visitor’s Center. Our attempt to get those kites airborne was a miserable flop and DD#2 lost her pacifier in that field. Talk about a major killjoy!
Of course now this memory brings nothing, but keen thoughts of a simply times. We get a kick out of talking about how a baby bear found DD#2’s pacie and is all the happier for his new keepsake.
One thing I wished we had tried with the kids is to make our own home-made kite. I found this klever (pull in the fangs, the misspelling is on purpose) video showing how easy it is to do.
Have you made a home-made kite? Do you like to fly kites? What is your favorite kite flying memory?
