Good-morning, Kittens & Pups! Thanks for joining me for the mid-week photo fun. As you know, I’m going at blogging for the rest of the year at a very low-key with all the holiday activities. Gee, can you believe tomorrow is Thanksgiving? Not me! Anywho, this week’s not-so Wordless Wednesday and Skywatch Friday contribution is a peek from a Saturday drive this summer in the rural community of Hiawassee. I don’t know if this is working gas station but I believe there is restaurant or convenient store inside. Obviously you can see the rafts for rent. The Hiawassee river flowed along the back side of this old Texaco station and yes, we saw rafters floating down the river. It was a gorgeous day!
Feel free to join in the fun and I promise to visit you ASAP!

I wasn’t sure if Joyce would put up the Wednesday Hodgepodge Q&A this week but yesterday’s interruption with two doctor appointments left me with little time. Here they are for you to ansewr if you’d like in comments or to snag and play along. We’ll just see if I can manage to answer them before my post goes live! 😀
1. Tradition...how tightly do you cling to tradition when it comes to holiday gatherings and celebrations? For instance do you always do the cooking, never eat at home, always go to grandma’s, never miss the parade, always watch football, never change the menu, always eat at 2 PM, etc.? Have you ever celebrated Christmas or Thanksgiving away from hearth, home, and family? How did that feel? The only consistent tradition we keep is a “traditional” Thanksgiving Day meal – turkey, ham, green beans, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, buttermilk biscuits, pumpkin pie, pecan pie, and old fashion stack cake. The holidays are always spent with family.
2. Help...is it easy for you to ask for help or are you a do-it-yourselfer? How is that a good/bad thing? I don’t mind asking for help but I prefer to do everything. Cooking gives me a lot of joy.
3. Abundance…what is there an abundance of in your kitchen? There’s an abundance of love, everything I prepare is from the heart for those I love!
4. Name…the smallest thing you’re thankful for? the biggest? The Smallest thing, I’m thankful for…Cheerio’s. This is my favorite breakfast cereal! The biggest thing, I’m thankful for…Jesus. Without Him, I’d have nothing! You know Cheerio’s make me think of a tiny life-preserver and Jesus is the Savior of the world. How cool is that? 😉
5. Key...What do you think is the key to living a more grateful life? The key for me is knowing that I have more than most and those who have more than me, I’m happy for their blessings. At any time what we have can be taken from us – home, job, love, or life. We’ve come close to losing our home on a couple of occasions when DH went through unemployment patches years ago, so I’m truly appreciate everything in my life and give God praise for every blessing.
6. State your own random thought here. I’ll keep it simple by sharing the results of last week’s BoTB showdown. The three ladies were not equally matched as I had hoped but I enjoyed the different Be Thankful For What You Have renditions. Each artist did a fabulous job which made my job difficult on who to give my vote to but like most of you, I felt Contender #1 covered the song with more heart. The final tally…
Lady C – 10
One Blood – 4
Rumer – 3
Congrats to the Lady C on a huge victory, now here’s another sample of her mewsical talent!

Blogosphere is going to be like a ghost town for the next few days in America. I know I will find it difficult to make my rounds but I will get to you sooner or later (probably later than I want). I prefer you spend your time with the family, so have a blessed time and please give thanks to God (everyone can do this regardless where you live) for all you have no matter how small for everything we have comes from above!
Please don’t forget to hit the dance floor with Monday’s Mewsic Moves Me. Have a good day!
