Welcome to 136th edition of Monday’s Music Moves Me. Come join virtual dance party hostess, Marie from XmasDolly & her lovely co-hosts Callie from JAmericanSpice, Stacy from Stacy Uncorked, and Cathy from Cathy Kennedy’s Blog (old blog).
The little finger play to Here is the Church rhyme isn’t a song, but very much apart of my childhood. Our gal, Callie, came up with this week’s theme. She wants everyone to share “songs that your mom or dad sung to you” like ’em or not, put them up for us to hear.
My days of youth seem so far away and while I’m certain my mother sang to me, I don’t have vivid recollections of her doing so. That being said, I do remember these little tunes being instrumental in my upbringing and I dare say many of you can say the same thing.
The sounds of the gospel swept through my childhood home. It was there I learned how Christian faith worked and am a better person for it today.
Music was commonly heard in my parents’ home. Perhaps this is why my soul is so full of it. Rock n’ roll really sets my body to movin’, but my spiritual roots still cling to the old classic hymns of faith.
