Let me make a quick announcement about my July 1st BoTB, kittens and dawgs. Despite extending the voting poll period, the showdown remained very lopsided. Def Leppard carried this contest from start to finish winning 12 to 4. I gave my vote to Taylor in the end, but it didn’t help the poor gal. Contender #1 was too strong. Congratulations go to Def Leppard!
Round 2 of BOTB picks up on the 15th, if you care to weigh in on the voting. Meanwhile, it’s time to put your dance shoes on and hit the floor with me!
Last month, Burt Reynolds was in town shooting a new film. I got to see him; he drove on to the set within 4 feet from where I stood. Whoo-hoo! See?
This month, I’m helping my good blogger pal, XmasDolly and the 4M crew. One of her chicks is out on vacation, so I’m filling her dance shoes as a temporary co-host. There is no theme this week, so this is a perfect time to feature Burt Reynolds movie theme songs. Let’s get this party started!
The Smokey and the Bandit series are my favorites featuring Mr. Reynolds, but another fun classic from 1981, The Cannonball Run with Ray Stevens singing the theme song.
Sarah Vaughan singing Sharky’s Machine love song theme (1981) with Burt and Rachel Ward.
How Do You Keep the Music Playing from the film, Best Friends (1982) with Burt and Goldie Hawn.
The Charlie Daniels Band sang the theme song for the 1983 flick Stroker Ace with Burt, Loni Anderson, Jim Nabors, and Ned Beatty.
This small sample of movie theme songs puts me in the mood to go on Burt Reynolds movie binge. Check IMDb for a his complete filmography. I wanted to met Burt Reynolds, but I didn’t get that opportunity. I tweeted the director to be an extra, but I never got the chance to do that, either. sigh Oh well, it was awesome to see such a big star in person. Whoo-hoo!
What’s the first movie that comes to mind when you think Burt Reynolds?
Do you have a favorite Burt Reynolds film?
