January Song Titles and Lyrics

Good Monday morning, Kittens and Dawgs!  Dang, if it ain’t the day before the last day of the first month of the new year already.  That’s the long version of saying, this is the last Monday.  Where’s my coffee?

Hopefully, your day isn’t so January-ish as in the cold snowy variety. Our forecast called for some of that fluff overnight but I haven’t looked out the window yet. Grab something hot to drink and settle in with me for a bit as I share with you January Song Titles and Lyrics!

The Decemberists

Thank you for including me in your Monday. ? My friend, XmasDolly who puts on the Monday’s Music Moves Me ? linky party is a bit short-handed and I volunteered to co-host as long for as long as she needs me.  You’re invited to hit the dance floor.

I schedule my Monday mewsic posts but our Spotlight Dancer, John came up with the 4M theme Songs with blue in the title or songs you play when you’re feeling blue and since I got wind of it early enough I am able to share my pick. 🙂

CRYSTAL BLUE PERSUASION Tommy James & the Shondells

Great theme, John, and congrats on being in the spotlight this week! 😉

Now back to my regular scheduled post theme. 🙂 Van Morrison sings, “Gotta get through January”, we’re just about to see January scoot right out the door.

FIRE IN THE BELLY Van Morrison & Steve Winwood

The Gypsies’ life wouldn’t suit me but I think that’s what O’Brien lyrics is referring to. What do you think?

As long as I remember I’ve been wandering
January to December I go wandering

WANDERING Tim O’Brien

I’m not good when it comes to deciphering poems or song lyrics but BLS penned the words

I can’t forget the cold
That fell January day

Throughout the song, it mentions the cold in January, which gives me the sense of someone’s passing. What’s your interpretation?

JANUARY Black Label Society

I’ll admit it’s hard for me to come up with songs or lyrics off the sleeve but what January song titles or lyrics can you think of or are you like me drawing a blank without Google’s help?

Thank you for including me in your Monday. I’m gonna leave you with one more by a Scottish singer who hit the British Singles Chart at #11 in 1980 with this song! 😉

JANUARY FEBRUARY Barbara Dickson

Oh yeah, I invite you back for tomorrow’s early February edition of Battle of the Bands.
