Romance

The art prompt this week at Rain’s Garden is ‘Romance’.  In a few days, it’ll be Valentine’s Day. With that in mind, I thought I’d do a quick sketch of two popular symbols that DH is faithful to give me on this romantic occasion.

I used my mobile Procreate app to create today’s illustration, then uploaded to my computer to apply the dreamy photographic #5 filter to my drawing using Pixelmator Pro.

DH and I traditionally exchange small boxes of Russell Stover 3-pieces of chocolates ($1) with one another as a token of love.  He also expresses his affections with flowers.  His tenderness never fails to warm my heart.  I plan to bake home-made cookies for him as usual.  I may decorate them.  If so, then photos will eventually follow in a future post. Ones love for the other should never be taken for granted.  Valentine’s Day may seem silly to some but it’s not silly to show the one you love an act of sweetness.  The gesture need not be big and expensive or at least not for this girl.  It’s the thought behind the expression that counts. Give your lady flowers any time. She’ll totally melt!

Someone shared Celtic Thunder The Sound of Silence on YouTube which prompted the discovery of An Irish Romance.

For those who hate Valentine’s Day for whatever reason, there is no reason you can’t love yourself with the same indulgence. Buy some flowers to add beauty to your home and to your life. 😉

Tom at SPMM shared in a recent Volume 9 The Jarring Juxtaposition the Nashville based pop band, imy2.  Based on the artist selection I wasn’t blown away but something in the female lead’s voice sparked my curiosity and I’m glad that I took the time to listen to my intuitions along with the gentle nudge from Tom to keep an open mind.  I listened to imy2’s entire library of cover songs.  I played the 67 song playlist in the background over a two day period.  In the end, I was very impressed with Annalisa Mahanes.  The band recorded a range of genres and Annalisa ‘s vocal style was a perfect fit on popular songs by legendary artists such like Dolly Parton to Amy Lee (Evanescence) and many others. Continuing with today’s art theme, I thought I’d share an imy2 original, Hopeless Romantic.

I’m in the April A2Z prep mode.  I have my music posts scheduled through the end of March and all other content may be spotty until after the challenge.  This is CAAC signing off with an invite to join me on the dance floor with the Sunday edition of Monday’s Music Moves Me with special co-hostess, Songbird’s Crazy World with your choice of whatever music moves you week.  Have a doodletastic day!
