Saturday Song-suasian #25 Hunter Hayes

Country music or the majority of it isn’t the same as it was when I was growing up. Today’s country maintains the sound of steel guitars or mandolins on occasion, but many artists’ voices do not have the twangy overtone and the beat is more like soft rock from the 70s. These are a few reasons why I enjoy Hunter Hayes!

Who is Hunter Hayes?

This kid was born in Louisiana. His grandma kicked started young Hunter’s musical career when she gave him an according for his second birthday. Hunter appeared on local and national TV when he was four. Getting nationally attention brought special privileges to this young lad. Actor, Robert Duvall gave Hunter his first guitar at age six. The following year, he performed on the White House Lawn for the former President Clinton. America’s Most Talented Kids spotlighted, a 13-year old Hunter singing Hank Williams’ song “Hey Good Lookin'”.  Leaving behind his Louisiana roots in 2008, he pushed toward the Country Capital in America – Nashville, Tennessee. 2010 big doors of opportunity opened for Hunter signing with Universal Music Publishing group, as a songwriter. He co-wrote “Play” for Rascal Flatts, and later in the same year signed on with Atlantic Records to begin his recording label debut, and as the story goes….the rest is history or in this young performers case is in the now!

Here is a sample of Hunter’s hit music…
