Hello, kittens & dawgs! Here we are in the 7th month of 2015. Our nation’s birthday is just around the corner, so what better way to celebrate the birth of this great nation than with a little photo-art creation!
I took a picture of an eagle statue last year in a office complex on the west side of town. I didn’t have a good photo of an American flag to do the mash up, but thanks to Google I found one. I used Pixalmator, a photo-editor similar to PhotoShop Elements, to layer the two images giving the eagle more of silhouette effect against the flag. It would be awesome to capture a real eagle in flight, but you have to be in the right place at the right time. That just doesn’t happen for the casual bird watcher like me. Speaking of perfect timing, I had just an opportunity to fall in my lap or in this case…my backyard!
It seems the critters like the clearing in our backyard. A few weeks ago, I introduced you to our new neighbor and now this is my second sighting of Mr. Hawk. I wasn’t quick enough the first time, but this go around I hurriedly grabbed my 300mm lens, snapped it on my camera, and zipped to the kitchen window to catch him. It’s not the best picture, but I got it all the same and I’d rather have it then to not have it at all. Maybe, I’ll get lucky for a third try. 😉
I want to invite you join me in July 1st BOTB Star Spangled Banner Showdown ~ Spirit VS MadisonRising! Meanwhile, why not check out these #WW shutterbugs contributions. Thank you for stopping by. I’ll visit you soon! 😉
